How dos our Tecnophor work ?

1. TECNOPHOR ELECTROPORATION
Nowadays, there is much of debate about the dynamics of cutaneous absorption and trans-
epidermal of various molecules, bearing in mind that, the main difficulty for the release of
substances through the human skin, is constituted by the outer layer, i.e. the stratum
corneum, … several theories have hypothesized...
Just to name a few:
1) one of the layers of the skin, represented by a row of cells in phase of dissolution, (lack of
nucleus), would be waterproof due to electrostatic forces to the polar molecules
2) the cell membrane, also called “housing”, surrounds each individual cell, and constitutes
the outer wall, with its formation made out mosaic lipid-protein( fats and proteins), it would be
able to disseminate the molecules, with greater coefficient of lipid distribution, with a
predominance of fat.
The transport of molecules through the human skin is of great interest for the transdermal
delivery, deep within the excellent barrier formed by our skin, molecules of various kinds
useful to the skin and the possibility to carry drugs with in a totally non-invasive method.
Small lipid soluble molecules can be absorbed by the “stratum corneum”, and then diffuse
through the lipid double layer of cell membrane, but water-soluble molecules, can not
penetrate significantly through this barrier.
On the basis of the function of the K / Na pump, some authors from the 900' to date, have
searched for a similar mechanism for penetration of water molecules.
The existence of canals that continuously mediate the flow of water molecules and small
solutions through the biological tissues, as well as through the wall of the urinary tract, or
even through the membrane of individual cells, was hypothesized in 1900.
Later in 1950 was discovered that water is rapidly transported through the cell membrane of
red blood cells, through selective canals for water that exclude ions or other solutes.
A more specific assumption is that short segments of canals are formed through the lipids of
the membrane in a double row of 5-6 cells comeociti, contiguous downwards, to create a trans-
cellular passage that we can precisely define "canel watery " suitable to the passage of water
molecules.

2. The story of why building a machine such as TECNOPHOR, able to create practically this
physical phenomenon known as "Electroporation", takes into consideration the study of a
preceding physical phenomena, made with other machines such as:
• Iontophoresis which creates the ionization of a substance through a continuous
galvanic current
• Iontophoresis as above, using however a evolved modulated series of wave
pulses.
The limitations of these techniques are:
• A low amount of active ingredient practically unable to convey
• Limited depth of tissue penetration
• Low concentration of active principle in an specific area
Electroporation is a transdermal delivery system, which overcomes the limitations of
passed techniques, and is used in medical therapy to convey drugs deeper into the skin
(by going up to 15 cm more in depth).
When an electrical pulse affects a cell, it generates a potential trans-membrane and
consequently the lipid layer of the cell membrane alters and gives rise to the formation
of "aqueous vessels", also called electro-pores.
These canals remain for a period of time, which generally runs from a few seconds to
about ten minutes. Generating " hydrophilic macro-pores" within the lipid bilayer of
the cell membrane, which seems to measure several microns in diameter, allowing the
passage of large molecules and higher molecular weight.
This phenomenon, which relates to the cell membrane is very important for the
progress of biology, biotechnology, and medicine, which allows the penetration of
active substances and water-soluble high molecular weight, such as for example,
hyaluronic acid, collagen, vitamin C, etc... by introducing up to 90% of the active
substance.
In practice, with this method we can convey water-soluble molecules through the
epidermal barrier, which barrier has a very low permeability to water-soluble
substances.
The electroporation device, Tecnophor, consists of an ionization chamber in the hand-
piece, capable of ionizing the molecules, and thus render "active", the transport of any
water-soluble substance.
Then through the opening of the electro-pores on the skin, the substance pass through
osmosis from one cell to another, and are released in the deeper transdermal skin
compartment.

3. The hand-piece in contact with the skin, incorporates a dispenser containing
conductive gel in which are dispersed the active ingredients that need to be conveyed
in depth. The product used is based on Hyaluronic Acid, with action to stimulate the
metabolism of the dermal extracellular matrix in order to:
• optimize the appearance of the skin for increased smoothness, brightness and
relaxation of facial features
• combat dehydration caused by some natural and iatrogenic beauty treatments
• recover more quickly a normal skin appearance after post-trauma
(interventions, therapies and other medical-aesthetic, fillers, peels, laser)
Already many persons have been treated, aged between 30 and 60 years considering a
duration of each treatment from 20 to 60 minutes for a number of 10 sessions, with a
weekly frequency.

4. The Skin
Since the skin appears undernourished, furrowed by several wrinkles or in presence of
imperfections such as cellulite, the problem is often caused by malfunctions present in
the deeper layers of the skin, the dermis and the hypo-dermis.
The most superficial layer of the skin, the corneum, represents a real brick wall,
hindering passages of substances or liquids.
A → epidermis (5 layer: basal, spiny,
granular, lucid and corneum)
B → dermis (middle superficial and
profound)
C → hypodermis
For this reason dermatologists choose to carry molecules -useful for treatment of the
middle layer (dermis), and deep layers (hypodermis)of the skin- through peeling:
different acids can reach up to the dermis by weakening or destroying the "brick wall"
formed by the corneum.
The transdermal delivery acts on the skin, determining a transient increase in the
permeability of tissues. This occurs, when a cell through an electrical pulse, at selected
frequencies, and generates a potential trans-membrane between minimum 0.5 and 1.5
volts; the lipid bilayer of the cell is subjected to a temporary readjustment, with the
formation of aqueous vessels in the cell membrane, called electro-pores.
Such electro-pores determine the passage of molecules which otherwise would not
pass the stratum corneum.
All this without suffering, no scalpel and without the use of needles or stings, acting
directly on cellular mechanisms without creating any side effects.
Although electroporation today is quite innovative, it has a clinical reality and a strong
precise and scientific foundation.
The struggle towards skin imperfections can now rely on innovative techniques that
act directly on the cellular mechanisms, otherwise unreachable by normal creams and
lotions (they often include harmful chemicals), solving wrinkles, acne, scars, and even
total elimination of cellulite problems.

5. ELECTROPORATION

The formation of the electro-pores in the cell membrane allow the passage of large
molecules. Transdermal delivery is performed with a our machine called Tecnophor,
especially calibrated, certificated and safe, in order to convey our products based on
Abamav, thanks to the software especially created for each specific treatment.

What to aspect from a session of transdermal treatment?

6. What happens during electroporation?
Slid a small hand-piece on the area to be treated, which will emits mild electrical impulses,
containing nutrients and bio-regenerating products, (collagen, elastin, amino acids, several
vitamins that promote revascularization), the regeneration of tissues and cell activity , in
particular of fibroblasts which produce new collagen and macrophages that clean the skin.
After the session, lasting about an hour, the treated area is then thoroughly hydrated with
special creams. The treatment is harmless and does not leave marks, except for a possible
slight flush that persists for not more than 24 hours. In some cases, in presence of age spots
related to age and photo-aging, their may form small scabs that are resolved in two or three
days.
TREATMENTS
Acne Treatment
the electroporation provides a success rate of more than 85%.
The procedure is the same one used for all other skin diseases, with the difference that
the prior dermabrasion reaches the deeper layers of the dermis, eliminating and
paving numerous irregularities of the skin, conveying directly to the cells, those
curative substances. The treatment involves 4-5 sessions a year which will be followed
by some maintenance treatments.
Wrinkles
In the underlying dermis, it reduces the collagen and elastic fibers, which are essential
for the texture and elasticity of the skin, and diminish substances such as hyaluronic
acid, which have the function to retain fluid, decreasing the vascularization, which
limits the contribution to the skin of oxygen and nutrients.
After treatment transdermal you notice immediately a net reduction of wrinkles and
increase skin thickness. Treatment includes 4 to 15 sessions, depending on the extent
of the problem, followed by some maintenance treatment bimonthly.
Wrinkles around the eyes
The wrinkles that form around the eyes, are usually very difficult to fill because any substance
injected is likely to clot and form many small imperfections. Currently the main "weapon"
available is represented by injections of botulinum toxin, a substance that "paralyzes" the
muscles. It is a very toxic poison that must only be administered by medical experts who know
how to dose correctly.
Thanks to electroporation and products based on Abamav, the parameters demonstrate
improved medium with a considerable increase in the thickness of the skin around the eyes
after only four sessions, eliminating the risk of side effects.

7. Lips
Usually, to correct lips, rather gelatinous fillers are required, which need much more invasive
treatments by the use of needles. Thanks to Tecnophor Device, we can introduce substances
that retain water, (such as hyaluronic acid) give volume and firmness, solving the problem of
those who do not want to hear about needles.
Stretch Marks
Stretch marks are deep dermis scars, but now with our Abamav treatments, based on collagen
