Katie never thought she had to worry about skin cancer.
She always thought “Hey that’ll never happen to me”.
Little did Katie know, her fair skin, natural bleach blond
hair, and her overexposure to UVB rays were putting
her at a high risk for developing skin cancer at some

shoulder that was slowly getting larger and
darker in color was something to be
concerned about. Unfortunately, Katie
waited and waited and waited.

her left shoulder
and decided to
let it go untreated.
Her first lesson in skin cancer came when she finally got
up the nerve to see a doctor who diagnosed her with

wearing sunscreen and protective clothing
when she was outside and not spending 15
minutes every afternoon in a tanning bed,
chances are she could have prevented this
from happening!!
