Applied Biometrics Products, Inc.; Still the Market Leader
for Fingerprint Identification.
Link/Page Citation
Business/Technology Editors & Medical Writers
BURLINGTON, Vt.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 29, 2000
In an effort to end confusion in the marketplace, Applied Biometrics Products Inc., a privately held New
Hampshire company, today announced, that contrary to some erroneous reports in the press, they are
continuing to revolutionize the fingerprint market with their patented Kryptic technology.
The confusion has arisen due to the ceasing of operations of a similarly named company, Applied
Biometrics of Minnesota. Publicly traded under the symbol ABIO on the NASDAQ, Applied Biometrics of
Minnesota is a medical device manufacturer, which has no affiliation with any fingerprint identification
company.
"To paraphrase Mark Twain, the report of our death was an exaggeration!" commented Dr. John F.
Catalano, Chairman and CEO of Applied Biometrics Products, Inc. "The fact that we not only still exist,
but are prospering, is much to the chagrin of our competitors, whose product attempts cannot match
Applied Biometrics Products' portable, battery operated, no-computer-required, low cost fingerprint
identification products."
Applied Biometrics Products Inc. is in no way affiliated with the Minnesota-based medical device
company. Applied Biometrics Products Inc. has developed the world's only low cost fingerprint
identification products capable of small-sized, portable, battery operation. Their products are
standalone, requiring no desktop or handheld computers to operate. Applied Biometrics Products Inc.
offers the critical features that some claim; but NO ONE else can deliver.
Dr. Catalano continued, "Applied Biometrics Products' portable, battery operated, no-computer-required,
low cost Kryptic technology has impacted the market so greatly that we cannot keep up with the
demand for our standard or custom fingerprint ID products. We have recently expanded our team of
professionals, both business and technical, in order to serve the exploding requests that we are
receiving for our products. In fact, we continue to look for the very best professionals to join our
expanding team."
As a result of their leading edge technology, Applied Biometrics Products Inc., a Palm Computing
developer, has forged relationships with leaders in the handheld computing, home security, access
control, healthcare, government, automotive, e-business, LAN and B2B markets.
Applied Biometrics Products Inc. was formed in 1998 and quickly established itself as the premier
provider of low cost, portable, battery-operated, non-transferable, fingerprint identification solutions.
Applied Biometrics Products' team is continuing to develop applications for the world's only portable,
battery operated, no-computer-required, low cost fingerprint identification technology."
Applied Biometrics Products, Inc. patent pending.
