DESIGN NAME:
Non-stop
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Movable Necklace
INSPIRATION:
at my university years, at an art lesson topic was
metamorphosis. i looked a photo about 10 seconds
and the inspiration converted to design. the photo
was Yin-Yang. *In Chinese philosophy, yin and
yang describes how apparently opposite or contrary
forces are actually complementary, interconnected,
and interdependent in the natural world, and how
they give rise to each other as they interrelate to one
another.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT
DESCRIPTION:
The necklace has a move in it. i combinated the
design with drawing program (vector based). so i
use both hand drawing and software possibilities. no
doubt, dividing the circle to 4 equal artistic pieces
couldnt be possible without computer help. i use a
couple magnet so that come together and keep
together the pieces. closed shape of the design is
tight, it never opens by itself even the user does
sport or runs. Primary Function is beging movable,
yes, but the move is never occur unless you want !
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
this necklace is suitable to all chains. the transform
progress mainly like this, rough cutting, hammering,
detailed cutting and soldering
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
the design started and finished in a university atelier
in 2013 and that year it was exhibited my gratuation
exhibition.
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION
TECHNOLOGY:
silver and a couple of magnets. the
circle is hammered before dividing 4
pieces. the hammer has cambered
shape. a soft material was situated
under the silver and the hammer is
applied.
SPECIFICATIONS / DIMENSION /
PACKAGE / TECHNICAL
PROPERTIES:
silver thickness is 1 millimeter (1000
micron). Height : 4 mm Width : 3 cm
TAGS:
movable, modular
RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
this design is enough to make me
gratuated!
CHALLENGE:
giving action to the pieces was the
hardest.
