• Baby scale
• Small sheet to cover scale.
• Child's growth chart.
• Alcohol swabs.
4. SPECIAL PONTS TO REMEMBER
• Children aged 0-36 months should be weighted nude for accurate
body weight determination.
• Never turn your back to an infant on a scale.
5. PROCEDURE
• Explain procedure and its importance to the mother.
• Wash Hands.
• Prepare the needed equipments.
• Determine child’s pervious weight, if available.
• clean the scale with alcohol swab.
• Place sheet on scale.
• Calibrate scale to “0” position.
6. CONT…
• Ask the mother to put the baby on the scale.
• Hold hand slightly over infant while on scale.
• Note weight
• Remove infant from scale and return infant to parent’s arms or crib.
• Give feedback and teaching mother according to the result.
• Wash hands and record weight on child’s growth chart by kilograms .
