“I moved from Kharkiv to Lviv nearly a year ago. In general, the
adaptation went very easily for me. I guess, the most challenging
experience was to explore new routes and learn the street names :)
I really like that the distances here are shorter, that’s why you spend
less time travelling around the city. Also, Lviv is a perfect place to
explore Ukrainian culture, get acquainted with traditions, probably
unknown in other cities.
Lviv’s architecture is very rich, the city offers a variety of
entertainment, so you’ll always have lots of opportunities to spend
your free time.
Here’s what I recommend: during your first days in the city make a list
of useful places such as shops, markets, bakeries, beauty salons and
so on - this will help you worry less about the daily routine.
And of course, don’t miss the opportunity to meet new friends and
join the community!”

to the new environment. I must say, Lviv has given me the warmest
welcome. Luckily, a couple of my colleagues live nearby, so I learned
many tips and tricks during my very first weeks here.
The people in Lviv are very hospitable. Moreover, it is easy to build
social relations here because ELEKS is full of wonderful and open
people.
I find Lviv an excellent option for relocation. On one hand, it not a
megapolis where you can lose yourself. On the other hand, the IT
community here is developed quite well. In addition, here you can find
lots of people that are in love with their work - and this is very inspiring.”

“Right after my job interview at ELEKS, I went to the one of the cafes
in the city center to think whether I would like to live in Lviv. The
decision was made immediately ;) Generally, it took me just a month
to move from Vinnytsia to Lviv after I decided to change something
in my life.
During the first two weeks, I felt like I was on a business trip abroad
and unfortunately have to come back home soon. Also, I was
pleasantly surprised that Lviv international airport is located within
15 minutes drive of the city center, and I appreciate it every time I
start my flight fresh and rested.
I’ve broken some stereotypes while living in Lviv. One of them is
very popular in Central and Eastern Ukraine. It claims that Russian is
not spoken in Lviv. I’m Russian-speaking and I don't feel any
inconveniences. Another myth states that life in tourist cities is very
expensive. In fact, I noticed no differences in prices for food and
services (except taxi fares that are slightly higher).”
