Who is David Shapiro
David Shapiro joined the stock market in 1972, shortly after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant.
On top of executive duties he manages private client money and a small unit trust, The Sasfin Met
Equity Fund. In 2012 The Sasfin Met Equity Fund earned two Raging Bull awards for its performance
over three years - the best value fund and the best overall general equity fund.
After a brief stretch at CorpCapital and Barnard Jacobs Mellet, David joined Sasfin Frankel Pollak in
February 2005 as a consultant, where he managed private client money and ran two unit trusts-The
Sasfin TwentyTen Fund and The Sasfin Equity Fund. He is now the Deputy Chairman of Sasfin
Securities, Pty Ltd. David comments daily on the stock market on Radio 702 and SAFm. He also
appear weekly on BDTV and CNBC and write a regular business column for The Times, a daily
newspaper and has his own show on CNBC Africa called "On the Couch with David Shapiro".
Shapiro served on the committee of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange from 1986 to 1992 and was
voted Sasfin Person of the Year 2013.
He has been married to Linda for 42 years, likes to run, collect art and draw caricatures
Jodie Sherwin Hill
Born and bred in Australia, Jodie started her first fully paid employment, during her school holidays at 9 years of age and
a small business model at 10yrs. Jodie has experience and expertise in health and fitness, business activities, property,
teaching, change management (technologies entering environments), and human behavior. Jodie has a Bachelor of
Education (1998), Qualified Personal Trainer (1999), Post Graduate Diploma in property development and management
(2011), and is a Demartini Method Facilitator (2012). She has been a student of the Concourse of Wisdom School, since
2007. Jodie moved to England in 2000 for 4 years and developed educational systems and courses for children with
special needs at an inner city school in London. Jodie arrived in South Africa permanently in 2004 and began running
small businesses in adult education, fitness (nordic walking) and real estate. Jodie was the operations Director at
Dream Tree encompassing 300 employees in 2010 to 2011. Jodie has studied human behavior for over 6 years under
the guidance and teaching of Dr. John Demartini®. She has travelled to over 40 countries in the world and has a vast
understanding of human behavior. Jodie co-founded Jomat Investments Pty Ltd in September 2011 with a focus on
maximizing human awareness and potential in every area of life. Alongside her business partner, Matseleng Mogodi,
they have developed their own T-3 ‘Teach the Teacher’ campaign, Change Engine™, and 5 R’s to owning and linking
worth™. They are launching their first book in mid 2014 as well as their jewelry and product line.
