demon Kesi took bath at this ghat. Since, then
devotees take a dip in the water and seek divine
blessings. Every evening ritualistic aarti is done for
Yamuna Devi at this ghat.
The Monkey Menace at Vrindavan!
• In Vrindavan you will find monkeys everywhere. They
snatch away mobiles, spectacles, purses, shoes and
whatever they can from your hands. So, beware.
• Don’t carry soft drinks in your hand. Wear contacts if
you can. Don’t take out mobile or wallet without
scanning for monkeys around you.
• Despite being ultra careful we lost one and had to
order a new one from a local Vrindavan optician -
Laxmi and Company at Retia Bazar, Vrindavan. You
may call them at 9410093583, 9557542602. He gave
us a new one within 30 Mins!
Accommodation in Vrindavan
• There are lot many ashrams, small hotels and guest
houses in Vrindavan which can be checked on
Booking.com, but the best place to stay is ISKON
Vrindavan. The place is beautiful and everything you
need is available within the complex. For bookings
visit: https://iskconvrindavan.com/accomodation/
• We booked elsewhere, but after visiting ISKON
realized that we could have saved much money, time
and effort if we had simply booked at ISKON
Vrindavan.
Vrindavan Local Tours by E Rickshaw
• Vrindavan temples in the backlanes are much easier
to visit only if you know where to find them! You
can’t just walk around due to monkey menace. They
snatch spectacles, wallets, shoes, etc. On our trip we
were helped by Narendra – 8979855609 who
showed us all around Vrindavan in his E Rickshaw. A
simple and decent person, we found him
trustworthy, sincere and dependable. He is a local
and knows all places in Vrindavan. We also booked
Pick and Drop to ISKON Mangla Arti at 4:15Am! You
may call him and book Vrindavan Local Sight Seeing
with him.
