Human Heart is not just a pumping organ. There is a compassion connection between human beings. Sense of devotion and deep feelings originate in the heart which translates into action. Functionally, the heart serves as a control room for the action and behavior. The inner conscious of mankind is activated through heart. Deep feelings and sense of devotions originate in the heart which translates into actions.
3. Quran, A Book of Contemplation
Throughout its text we see wherever the word
is used
it reveals that something is going to be known
for the guidance of those who contemplate
over the mysteries in the contents of that verse.
Most often the words 'Signs' are addressed to
people who contemplate; who have knowledge
and those who understand those who think and
reflect and those who are sincere in their
learning. It is the duty of learned people to explain its
verses in the light of science for the people of science
4. An Open Invitation to Human being
Most surely in the creation of the heavens and the earth and
the alternation of the night and the day there are signs for
men who understand Those who remember Allah standing
and sitting and lying on their sides and reflect on the creation
of the heavens and the earth: Our Lord! Thou hast not
created this in vain! Glory be to Thee; save us then from the
chastisement of the fire.

5. The Human Heart
• Human Heart is not just a pumping organ.
There is a compassion connection between
human beings
• Sense of devotion and deep feelings
originate in the heart which translates into
action.
• Functionally, the heart serves as a control
room for the action and behavior.
• The inner conscious of mankind is activated
through heart.
• Deep feelings and sense of devotions
originate in the heart which translates into
actions.
6. The Human Heart
The noble Qura’n gives pivotal role to the
heart and claims that the heart is not only a
pumping organ but involved in
1. Understanding and feeling
2. Memorization
3. Recordkeeping of secrets
4. Communication with the brain and sense organs.
7. The Human Heart an
Organ for Understanding & Feeling
Have they not traveled through the land and have they
hearts wherewith to understand and ears wherewith to
hear? Verily, it is not they eyes that grow blind, but it is
the hearts which are in the chest that grow blind
[Qura’n, 22: 46].
Qura’n uses very strong and comprehensive words for the
function of heart in understanding and feeling.
The role of eyes and the ears in this process of
understanding as commonly observed is given secondary
importance and mentioned here to be under the influence
of the heart.
8. The Human Heart an
Organ for Understanding & Feeling
• “And certainly We have created for Hell many of the jinn
and the men; they have hearts with which they do not
understand, and they have eyes with which they do not see,
and they have ears with which they do not hear; they are as
cattle, nay, they are in worse errors; these are the heedless
ones”. [Qura’n, 7:179].
• The Noble Qura’n informed humanity about the heart and
its ability to understand and store thoughts and "secrets"
9. The Heart as an Organ for
Memorizing
“Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: With it
came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- To thy heart, that thou
mayest admonish. In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. Without
doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples.
Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of
Israel knew it (as true)? [Qura’n, 26: 192-197].
The revelations of Qura’n were exposed to heart of Prophet
Muhammad through Angle Gabriel.
The mention of heart here is very special at this occasion. All
the mysteries and secrets were opened to thy heart. The role of
human mind in this understanding is secondary.
10. The Heart as an Organ for
Memorizing
• During the revelation of Qura’n, Muhammad peace be upon him
used to hast in repeating what was recited to him by the Angle
Gibrail, Muhammad was instructed by almighty Allah not to make
hurry but to recite slowly and gradually.
Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it. Surely on
Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. Therefore
when We have recited it, follow its recitation. Again on Us
(devolves) the explaining of it”. [Qura’n, 75:16-19]
The recitation was given the secondary importance. The first thing
was the absorption of the revelation by the heart and secondly its
correct pronunciation or recitation for which training was given to
the Prophet Muhammad by the angle Gabriel.
11. The Heart as an Organ for
Memorizing
• Qura’n recalls the words of Moses when he was given the
Torah (Gospel) an admonition for his people. Moses felt it very
difficult for him to absorb and carry this message to his people
and requested Allah to expand his chest for absorption,
memorization and conveying this message in a lucent manner.
Qura’n recalls these words in the tongues of Moses;
“(Moses) said: "O my Lord! Expand me my chest; "Ease my
task for me; "And remove the impediment from my speech,
"So they may understand what I say [Qura’n, 20:25-28].
12. The Heart as an Organ for
Memorizing
Similarly Qura’n recalls the great bounty of Allah on the last
prophet Muhammad peace be upon him by expanding his chest
for absorption and storing of the Divine revelation.
“Have We not expanded thee thy chest? And removed from thee
thy burden. The which did gall thy back?” [Qura’n, 94:1-3]
For the general people it is counted as the greatest bounty from
Allah when some one heart is opened to the admonition of God
Almighty Allah. This can be recalled from the verse below;
“And whomsoever Allah wills to guide, Allah opens his chest to
Islam (submission)” [Qura’n, 6:125].
13. The Heart as an Organ for
Memorizing
Nay, these are Signs self-evident in the hearts of those endowed
with knowledge: and none but the unjust reject Our Signs.
[Qura’n 29: 49].
• The nervous system within the heart (or “heart brain”)
enables it to learn, remember, and make functional
decisions independent of the brain’s cerebral cortex.
• Recently experiments have demonstrated that the signals
the heart continuously sends to the brain influence the
function of higher brain centers involved in perception,
cognition, and emotional processing.
14. Heart’s communication with Brain,
Eyes, Tongue and Sense organs
Research has shown that the heart communicates
with the brain in four major ways;
1. Neurologically or transmission through nerve impulses,
2. Biochemically - hormones & neurotransmitters
3. Biophysically -through pressure waves
4. Energetically -through electromagnetic field interactions.
15. Neurological communication of Heart with
Brain, Eyes, and Sense organs
• The messages the heart receive from sense
organs and what it sends to the brain directly
affect performance of individual.
• The nerves that link the brain to the heart are
part of what is called the autonomic nervous
system.
• These pathways connect the heart and other
internal body organs to the brain.
• This system functions in an involuntary and
reflexive manner. It directs activities of the body
that do not require conscious control.
16. Neurological communication of Heart
with Brain, Eyes, and Sense organs
• A well known neuro-cardiologist, Dr. J. Andrew Armour, in 1991
introduced the concept of a functional “Heart Brain". His work revealed
that the heart has a complex intrinsic nervous system that is sufficiently
sophisticated to qualify as a “Little Brain" in its own right.
• He defines that the heart’s brain is an intricate network of several types
of neurons, neurotransmitters, proteins and supportive cells like those
found in the brain proper. Its elaborate circuitry enables it to act
independently of the cranial brain – to learn, remember, and even feel
and sense.
• His book ‘Basic and Clinical Neurocardiology’ provides information
that the heart contains a cell type "adrenergic" known as "intrinsic
cardiac adrenergic" (ICA) cells and synthesize and release catecholamines
(norepinephrine and dopamine), neurotransmitters once thought to be
produced only by neurons in the brain and ganglia outside the heart.
17. Heart’s communication with Brain,
Eyes, Tongue and Sense organs
• Neurological communication of brain with eyes,
tongue, and sense significantly affects the brain's
activity.
• Thus training and guarding all sense organs is the
first step in controlling the chain of reactions
occurring inside the body that ultimately affect
brain’s activity and performance. Thus
• Healthy look nourish success,
• Dirty gaze cause nothing but dismay and failure.
18. Biochemical communication of Heart
with Brain, Eyes, and Sense organs
• The biochemical functioning of heart is
activated due to some external stimuli.
• The cause and the effect in the form of
hormonal secretions affect the human behavior
• Allah guides all the believers to control their
worries, depression, emotional fatigue and
withhold their sense organs especially the eyes
and the ears, from indulging in unlawful
actions (24:31-31).
19. The Biochemical Communication of
Heart with the Brain, Eyes
“Allah knows of (the tricks) that deceive with the eyes, and all that the
hearts conceal chests conceal and what they manifest”. [Qura’n, 40:19].
“Your Lord knows all that their hearts hide or reveal.”[Qura’n, 28:69].
“And most surely your Lord knows what their chests conceal and
what they manifest”. [Qura’n, 27:74].
Controlling the external stimuli is under the free will of a person
and commanded by Allah to be guarded and will help us eliminate
the mental and emotional drain caused by confusion, stress,
overwhelms anxiety and frustration.
20. Biochemical communication of Heart
with Brain, Eyes, and Sense organs
• The Glorious Qura’n instruct its readers and followers to
withstand or digest their fury at the time of fight or any
other situation and exercise restraint in tiring situations.
• It is this forbearing or patience advised by the Creator for
the betterment of His creation and training towards
reaching the posted goals.
• It is a virtue, which enables the individual to proceed
towards worthy goals, un-deflected by adverse
circumstances or repeated provocations.
• It allows individuals to become successful.
• The Qura’n repeatedly stresses the need for patience and
foregiveness
21. Quran Healing for Mankind
• More recently, it was discovered that the heart also
secretes oxytocin, commonly referred to as the "love" or
"bonding hormone." Beyond its well-known functions in
childbirth and lactation, recent evidence indicates that this
hormone is also involved in cognition,
tolerance, adaptation, complex sexual and maternal
behaviors as well as in the learning of social cues and the
establishment of enduring pair bonds.
• Qura’n on the other hand goes to the depth of these
hormonal secretions and changes associated with it in the
human behavior and command its followers to avoid such
actions that will result in the secretion of enzymes/
hormones causing depression, anxiety in this world and
punishment in the hereafter.
22. Golden Principles
“..and bear with patient constancy whatever betide thee; for this is
firmness (of purpose) in (the conduct of) affairs. [Qura’n, 31: 17].
The believers are instructed over 90 times to bear perseverance.
History testifies that one, who acts on impulses and emotional reactions,
invariably fails; and one who responds rationally, always succeeds. Upset by
opposition, jeering or other kinds of unpleasantness, he will never reach his
goals. He will simply become enmeshed in irrelevancies.
“..Those who patiently persevere will truly receive a reward without
measure!" [Qura’n, 39:10].
23. Quran Healing for Mankind
• Qura’n instructs its followers to overcome the unnecessary
secretion of some or many of these types of hormones and
refrain from anxiety and unnecessary stress.
“Say, "The things that my Lord hath indeed forbidden are:-
shameful deeds, whether open or secret; - sins and trespasses
against truth or reason; assigning of partners to Allah, for which
He hath given no authority; and saying things about Allah of
which ye have no knowledge." [Qura’n 7:33].
24. Quran Healing for Mankind
“Nor come nigh to adultery: for it is a shameful (deed) and an
evil, opening the road (to other evils) [Qura’n 17: 32].
Qura’n instructs its followers to overcome the unnecessary
secretion of some or many of these types of hormones and
refrain from anxiety and unnecessary stress.
The words ‘getting close to’ and ‘opening road to other evils’
needs special attention regarding the direct involvement of
sensory organs (eyes, ears) with heart and the train of flow of
several hormones that are released following the action. This will
ultimately result in the anxiety and stress of the individual
involved. Thus the most Merciful instructs the followers not to
go close to adultery and other shameful acts.
25. Quran Healing for Mankind
• “Eschew all sin, open or secret: those who earn sin, will get
due recompense for their "earnings." [Qura’n, 6:120].
Open sins are known to everyone. These are under the control and free will of
doers, but the hidden sins are those known to the doers and to Allah. Some of
the hidden sins such as jealousy, hypocrisy are under the control of doers but
many of the hidden sins are under the control of autonomous gland
secretions after the external stimuli (dirty look or desire) are received.
“Say, "The things that my Lord hath indeed forbidden are:- shameful deeds,
whether open or secret; - sins and trespasses against truth or reason;
assigning of partners to Allah, for which he hath given no authority; and
saying things about Allah of which ye have no knowledge." [Qura’n 7:33].
26. Accountability of Eyes, Hearing & Heart
“To Allah belongeth all that is in the heavens and on earth.
Whether ye show what is in your self (minds/ heart) or conceal
it, Allah Calleth you to account for it. He forgiveth whom He
pleaseth, and punisheth whom He pleaseth, for Allah hath
power over all things” [Qura’n, 2:284].
Clearly Qura’n reminds us of the unlawful indulgence and
transgression after our willingness to do the shameful act for
which there is penalty.
27. Accountability of Eyes, Hearing &
Heart
“Do not follow what you do not know; the ears, eyes,
and hearts will all be held responsible for their deeds”.
[Qura’n, 17: 36].
Allah guides all the believers to control their worries,
depression, and emotional fatigue and withhold their
sense organs especially the eyes and the ears, from
indulging in unlawful actions, (24:31-31).
28. Accountability of Eyes, Hearing &
Heart
• Controlling the external stimuli is under the free will of a
person and commanded by Allah to be guarded and will help
us eliminate the mental fatigue and emotional drain caused
by confusion, stress, overwhelms anxiety and frustration.
29. The Heart as an Electromagnetic
Organ
• The heart is the most powerful generator of
electromagnetic energy in the human body,
producing the largest rhythmic electromagnetic
field of any of the body’s organs.
• The heart’s electrical field is about 60 times
greater in amplitude than the electrical activity
generated by the brain. This field, measured in
the form of an electrocardiogram (ECG), can be
detected anywhere on the surface of the body.
30. Cardio Electromagnetic Communication
The magnetic field produced by the
heart is more than 5,000 times
greater in strength than the field
generated by the brain, and can be
detected up to 10 feet beyond the
physical body in all directions
into the space around us.
Research conducted at IHM
suggests that the heart’s field is an
important carrier of information.
(Source: http://www.heartmath.org/research/science-of-the-heart/head-heart-
interactions.html
31. The Heart as an Electromagnetic
Organ
• Research conducted at IHM suggests that the
heart’s field is an important carrier of
information.
• The concept of an energy exchange between
individuals is central to many healing
techniques.
• It has been investigated that interactions take
place between one person’s heart and
another’s brain when two people touch or are
in proximity.
32. The Electricity of Touch
• The electromagnetic signals generated by the
heart have the capacity to affect others
around us[3].
• Thus the heart-brain synchronization can
occur between two people when they interact
and individuals increase psycho physiological
coherence due to the subtle electromagnetic
signals communicated by those around them.
33. Healing Modalities
Source: Rollin McCraty, Ph.D., Mike Atkinson, Dana Tomasino, B.A., and William A. Tiller, Ph.D
When people touch or in a caring state,
or in proximity, one person’s heartbeat
signal is registered in the other person’s
brainwaves
This electromagnetic fields generated by
the heart of an individual may be
detected and amplified by biological
tissue, and potentially produce
measurable effects in living systems.
One implication is that the effects of
therapeutic techniques involving contact
or proximity between practitioner and
patient could be amplified by
practitioners consciously adopting a
sincere caring attitude, and thus
introducing increased coherence
34. Qura’n Healing for Mankind
“And We send down from the Qura’n that which is Healing and
a Mercy to those who believe in (Allah, Qura’n), and it
increases the ‘Zalimin’ (wrongdoers) nothing but loss.” [Qura’n,
17: 81].
Quran has a miraculous healing effect on the hearts, souls and
bodies of believers.
The Qura’n is a healing and cure for diseases, those that affect
the body, as well as the heart, and result in mental illness and
emotional distress to the soul.
This healing is for both the intangible nafs (the human mind,
heart and soul), as well the physical body.
35. Diseases of the Human Self (Nafas)
For each disease there is cure. There is no better diagnostician
or doctor than one Who has created its patient (man). The
almighty God (Allah) all knowing Who is the designer and
architect of human, perfectly knows how man’s working
system is jeopardized by various germs and pollutants of the
society. The Glorious Qura’n records this in the following
words;
“Indeed We have created man, and We know what
dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are
nearer to him than (his) jugular vein. [Qura’n, 50:16]
36. Diseases of the Human Self (Nafas)
• Among the various diseases that has far-reaching effect on
human development include;
1. Nifaq or Hypocrisy [63: 1-8, 47:17],
2. Pride and Arrogance, [7:12, 31:18];
3. Hawa or Undue desires [2:87, 5:7, 18:28];
4. Shuhh or Greed [4:128, 59:9, 64:16];
5. Shahwat, Lust, or Shameful Acts [6:120, 7:33];
6. Fujur or Vulgar;
7. Waswasat or Whispering [5:30, 50:16];
8. Zulm or Injustice,
9. Ri’a or Show off.
37. Diseases of the Human Self (Nafas)
• These pollutants once acquired have very fatal cycles of
internal multiplication and if not treated well in time will get
severe and finally incurable.
• The negative tendencies of the outer self (Nafs) results into the
safe haven for the nourishment of internal diseases and
generate barriers to the growth of human development; both
physical and spiritual.
• As a result man loses his/ her insight and his/ her total energies
are diverted towards selfishness.
• Man starts believing deception as truth, fiction as reality and
self-glorification as his highest goal in life.
38. Golden Principles
• Our beloved prophet Muhammad has said, “..None of the of
Muslims when meet and Shake Hands they get salvation before
they separate” [5, 6].
• Thus shaking hands increase heart brain coherence, improve
love and devotion and the therefore, encouraged by Islam.
The prophet of mercy has also instructed his followers to be
cautious of the heart’s functioning. He has said, ‘In the body there
is a piece of flesh, when it is correct, the whole body is correct,
and when it is sick (senseless), the whole body will be sick, be
aware! It is the heart’.
The prophet Muhammad has said, The believers, in their
love, mercy, and kindness to one another are like a body: if
any part of it is ill, the whole body shares its sleeplessness
and fever
39. Golden Principals
The most perfect of the believers in faith are the best of
them in morals. And the best among them are those who
are best to their wives[9, 10]. None of you believes
(completely) until he loves for his brother what he loves
for himself. [11, 12].
The merciful are shown mercy by the All-Merciful.
Show mercy to those on earth, and God will show
mercy to you. [13, 14],
Smiling at your brother is charity...[15] and A good
word is charity [16, 17].
40. Golden Principles
O Mankind! there hath come to you a direction from your Lord
and a healing for the (diseases) in your hearts -- and for those
who believe, a Guidance and a Mercy. [Qura’n 10:57].
Qura’n explains the healing of heart disease. These disease
include; all these disease has a cause effect relationship.
Some are related with the change in the hormonal secretion of
the heart (love and affection), some with the neurology and
physical functioning of the heart (stress and anxiety), while
other are more influenced by the heart sense relationship.
Followers are instructed for strengthening of fair relations ships
and sincere emotion through the use of positive attitudes.
41. Golden Principles
“Nor can Goodness and Evil be equal. Repel (Evil) with what is better: then
will he between whom and thee was hatred become as it were thy friend
and intimate! And no one will be granted such goodness except those who
exercise patience and self-restraint, none but persons of the greatest good
fortune. And if (at any time) an incitement to discord is made to thee by the
Evil One, seek refuge in Allah. He is the One Who hears and knows all
things” [Quran, 41: 35-36].
“…..and turn off Evil with good for such there is the final attainment of
the (Eternal) Home, Gardens of perpetual bliss,.. [Quran 13:22].
42. Golden Principles
“So announce the Good News to My Servants, those
who listen to the Word, and follow the best (meaning)
in it: those are the ones whom Allah has guided, and
those are the ones endued with understanding”
[Quran 39:17].

Qura'n is the last Divine book and therefore, contains glimpses of
established scientific signs and other statements (verses) that will be
discovered over time. The Qura'n exhorts its reader and specifically the
believers that the pursuit of exploring this universe is one of their religious
duties that will guide them to the existence of One God. We all have to
ponder upon the secrets Qura'n has foretold us. As we are educated over
time, we see that there are hundreds of scientific signs still waiting for
discoveries by the scientists. Some of the awaited discoveries include; How
is the sustenance of all living beings fulfilled from the Heaven? [Qura'n
51:22, 45:4-5],the soul and its destination [Qura'n 83:18-21, 56:83-9], the
reality of information stored in the body cells [Qura'n 24:24], (DNA) [Qura'n
6:67], hearts and their retrieval [Qura'n 22:46, 100]on the Day of Judgment,
Why are hearing, sight and even heart accountable? [Qura'n 17:36,]. The
reality of spiritual enlightenment by Divine guidance and radiating faces on
the Day of Judgment. [Qura'n 57:12-15 and 80: 38-41]. The mind set of
matter, particles, atoms, their capacity in learning the events and obeying
the same God.
