Took some time to see what went good and what did not work for the past 6 months, and then set some goals for the next 3 months.

2. Purpose
● Review goals that I set so that I can have a
better life.
● General note:
– Really was not able to achieve much.
– Should be doing this more frequently, to catch the
divergence with the goals earlier.

3. Technical Goals
June 2015 ~ Dec 2015
● Master Spring Framework
– Became more familiar, but yet to master.
● Catch up with speed on embedded systems and machine learning
– Working on “Embedded System Specialist” certification.
– Yet to get to machine learning.
● Learn clojure: everyone who knows it well says its awesome, so going to give it a try.
– Gave it a try and experience was positive. Want to write something substantial with it.
● Finish the python powered EN-JP translation system.
– Gave this up because it was too ambitious.
● Contribute to FOSS in any way that I can. (Combat my shyness)
– Never happened,
– except for some translations contributed through Transifex
● Higher level certifications out of (Also look up for ones with value):
– Embedded System Specialist
– Network Specialist
● Working on these. ES exam in April, NS exam in October.
– Information Security Specialist

Low on the priority list.

4. Personality Issues that
I would like to combat
● Currently:
– Not well spoken
– Not Proactive
– Lazy
– Does not spend time wisely
– Loves comfort zones
– Short attention span for tasks that have less appeal
● Find a way to make them interesting
● Create a mechanism to make such tasks disappear from the universe
● Do not passively complain; be active
● Issues still persist. Need to install something.
● How to objectively measure these? Not sure.

5. Other Non Planned Achievements
● Started using emacs because it was advertised
to work better with clojure.
● Successfully deployed a personal redmine
instance on AWS.
– Fun learning, but was not that much useful,
however.
