3. CONVENTIONS OF REAL MEDIA
PRODUCTSMy college magazine uses the general conventions of real media
products, for instance my magazine has most of the main features of
a college magazine.
Mast head – mine is easy to read and bold against an invert
background
Bar code + Date – by having the date the reader can see if the
magazine is current or not and having a bar code as well makes it
look more genuine
Layout features – I set mine out with the article titles to the side of
the model who is set against a white background so that I could use a
darker colour for the font, therefore making them bolder and more
noticeable which outlines their importance.
4. SOCIAL GROUPS
With my magazine it’s very clear that it’s designed for college
students as the model who’s in my main image is of the same age
and is wearing the sixth form ID of the college. It’s also clear due to
the subjects of the articles being based on college activities and
student related topics.
MEDIA INSTITUTION
A media institution is any of the organisations in authority of the
production, promotion, distribution or regulation of media texts.
MY AUDIENCE
My target audience consists of sixth formers and teachers, therefore I have based t
upon information that they would either be needing or interested in and college rel
eg sporting event, revision classes, and study resources
