• The Summer games have been held in St Louis in 1904,
Los Angeles in 1932 and 1984, and in Atlanta in 1996.
• The Winter games have been held in Lake Placid in
1932 and 1980, Squaw Valley in 1960, and Salt Lake
City in 2002.

• San Francisco's vision is “A Unified Bay Area”
and a “Spectacular Experience in the Golden
City”.
• Understanding that venues need to be state-of-
the-art during the 60 days of the Games, San
Francisco 2024 has embarked on a path to
make the Games the most sustainable in history.

• Under US constitution power is divided
between national, state and city levels of
government with most decision making
responsibilities for service and infrastructure
given to the state, in this case the state of
California.
• The city of San Franciso would be the
prinicipal governmental authority responsible
for the 2024 games alongside the OCOG.

• The US economy is the largest in the world,
with a 2012 GDP of approximately USD
15.66 trillion (source: CIA world factbook).
• San Francisco 2024 states that the 2011
GDP for the Bay Area was approximately
USD 566 billion

• San Francisco has developed a $750 million
financial guarantee package which consists
of both private and public components.
• $300 million guarentee from the state of
California, and $250 million private
guarentee from a Guarentee investment
contract.

• San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
has been designated as the offical airport for
the 2024 Olympic Game.
• $1 billion upgrade to the international
terminal features greater capacity for normal,
everyday operations in customs and
immigration.

doubled in size. Customs officers will be
increasing its staff from 125 Inspectors to
175 Inspectors.

budget with revenues and expenses nearing
$4.5 Billion
o This includes venue operations, games workforce,
technology, administration, and transportation.
• Our non-OCOG budget amounts to $4 Billion
o To build the Olympic Village on Treasure Island, and
to build four venues
