BERGGASTHAUS
This 170-year-old Swiss guesthouse built into the side of a mountain is best accessed by a cable car.
This gorgeous guesthouse and restaurant is quite literally built into a cliff, and its back wall is made up of the rock itself.
Its precarious perch makes it difficult to get to, and it’s only accessible after a steep hike along a mountain path or via cable car (the
piano in the living room was brought in by helicopter). It’s been around for 170 years, and was originally a home for farmers; the
guestbook goes back to 1940.
Open from May through November, the guesthouse uses only rainwater, and there are no showers. Weekends often bring in rowdy
groups of Swiss hikers and live music that plays late into the night. It’s run by Claudia and Beny Knechtle-Wyss and their five children,
plus it’s home to 35 sheep, 20 rabbits, 5 chickens, 3 pigs, a donkey, and a dog.

A-380 IN-FLIGHT KITCHEN
Imagine boarding a plane without security checks or even tickets and more importantly, there's more than just fish or chicken for dinner.
Set in a dull commercial building in central Taipei, the A380 In-Flight Kitchen looks and functions like an airline in many ways, expect that it serves a
regular restaurant menu of Western food, sometimes in plastic trays.
"There are customers who come in and say 'is this real airline food? Airline food doesn't taste good,'" Lu said, adding that they had turned a profit.
The restaurant, in Taipei's university quarter, opened after owner Yang Mao-hui figured that he could ride some of the Airbus A380's recent fame in
the aviation industry by offering a simulated experience, Lu said.

THE WIZARD OF THE OPERA
Worth it for the name alone, this restaurant promises "gorgeous and gothic dining", but what they really mean is that it's opera-themed.
The sauces are drawn on like musical notation, they make a delicious smoked-salmon dish ingeniously (no, really) shaped like a rose,
and they'll even squirt out the word "opera" for you in cursive chocolate. The tables are made of marble and the music is – duh – opera.
The quality of the cuisine doesn't measure up to the Wizard's high-culture aesthetic, being largely manufactured at the same facility
that serves the dozens of other restaurants owned by the Diamond Dining group, but if your date complains just put an admonishing
finger to their lips and then use that finger to indicate the Donizetti.

The enduring popularity of the 1990s sitcom Friends lives on this Chaowai Soho cafe that has recreated the cafe setting from the show right
down to the last detail – the handwritten menu on the wall, the brick interior, and of course, the iconic orange couch. TV screens continually
show episodes of Friends and coffee is at equally friendly prices (the most expensive on the menu is RMB 20).
If you're into Friends, you definetely should visit this café. It's not difficult to find, although you wouldn't expect this sort of coffee place situated in an
office building.
Friends episodes are playing non-stop on a huge TV screen in front of the famous orange couch from the sitcom. Forget about getting a seat on this
couch though, as it's always occupied and every other visitor is keeping an eye out on getting their asses on the couch. You can see the screen
clearly from wherever you could in the café though, as it's quite small. Every corner of the café is a tribute to Friends, they even have one of those
troll dolls from the 'Geller Cup', and an exact version of 'Hugsy' is sitting on the couch!
Coffee is good and served in huge mugs, the few cakes they have on the menu also taste great and are all featured in the series. The guy who build
this café must be crazy being able to translate the series including every tiny detail you can possibly think of. Definately worth the visit, unless you
hate Friends that is.

KAYABUKIYA TAVERN
The Kayabukiya Tavern - is a traditional-style Japanese "sake-house" restaurant[1] (izakaya) located in the city of Utsunomiya, north of Tokyo, Japan.[2][3] The
location attracted international attention in 2008 when the Western media reported the tavern and its news movies were uploaded to YouTube.[1]
The tavern's owner, Kaoru Otsuka, owns two pet macaque monkeys who are currently employed to work at the location.[4] The first monkey, twelve-year-old "Yat-
chan", is dressed in a shirt and shorts while he takes customers' drink orders and delivers them to the diners' tables.[4] The restaurant's owner, Otsuka, reported that
he never initially taught the monkeys; Yat-chan first learned from watching him work. Otsuka said, "It all started one day when I gave him a hot towel out of curiosity
and he brought the towel to the customer."[1] The younger macaque, named Fuku-chan, is currently four years old and has the main duty of bringing the attendees
hot towels to clean their hands before ordering drinks.[5] Fuku-chan has only two years of experience, while Yat-chan has been reportedly performing the job for a
longer time.[5]
Both monkeys receive boiled soya beans from customers as tips for their service.[6] The monkeys' environment has been inspected to ensure proper treatment of the
animals;[7] due to Japanese animal rights regulations, they are each only allowed to work for two hours a day.[2] The owner says that he will be introducing more
simians to work as waiters at Kayabukiya, and as of October 2008 is currently training three young monkeys to take on the job.[1] The restaurant was also featured as
a reward for the winning team in the third episode of Season Two of I Survived a Japanese Game Show.
The tavern was abandoned after the 3/11 earthquake and tsunami. The monkeys still belong to the owner. The current state of the tavern and the monkeys was
documented in a 2014 movie by artist Pierre Huyghe.
