3. GP Turbo (OEM Standard) V.S. Other Factory's Turbo
- The Devil Is In the Details
The most important thing you should remember is that you need to source turbochargers that
are manufactured strictly according to OEM Standard like Garret's and BorgWarner’s. GP Turbo is

This turbocharger model number is 8971397243 for Isuzu Trooper Opel/Vauxhall, KW:100,
Engine:4JB1T, Year:1998-2004.

Our major content figure for Si & Mo is 4.48 & 0.036, while other factory’s is only
3.16&0.028. This will affect the stability of turbine housing.
7. Compressor Housing
The air nozzle in GP turbo charger is housed at the sweet spot that ensures the
GP turbocharger gets the most value out of your nozzle.
8. Turbine Wheel
Fig a- shows the external structure of turbine wheel after subjected to higher temperatures

9. Composition Analysis of Turbine Wheel
Let’s look at this turbine wheel composition analysis. The material is 713C , however
our competitor’s value of B, Zr and Al is not according to the OEM standard . This is
specifically done to keep costs low while in sacrifice with the security of turbine wheel.

10. Material Impurities of turbine wheel

The Fig 1 shows the material composition analysis. The black spots marks the material impurities that affects the
molecular strength of the material used. On the other hand, the Fig 2 shows there are no material impurities in the
metal used in GP Turbocharger which means you get a superior performing turbocharger that has longer life. Let’s say if
the compressor wheel fails, the turbo will fail, then how about the engine? It’s unbelievable.
11. Seal Ring
The seal ring of GP turbocharger uses W6Mo5Cr4V2, material that has high
temperature resistance at 350-400℃. Another turbocharger is 3Cr13 which has a
temperature resistance at 250-300℃, this will be a hidden trouble for the turbo.
12. Machining
The GP turbocharger has smoother finish that shows the higher level of craftsmanship and
superior turbocharger parts. On the other hand, the other turbocharger manufacturer
shows no inclination towards machining that is standard industry requirement to produce
superior automotive parts.
13. Lack of glue
The lack of glue in turbocharger parts is a clear indication of loose fitting. As you can see
there is no sign of glue in other turbocharger parts whereas GP turbochargers have the marks
of industrial glue that keeps the parts fitted together.
