latest ASUC news on campus!
Who are we?
The Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC), is the officially
recognized student association at the University of California, Berkeley. Known as one
of the largest and most autonomous student organizations in the nation, the ASUC is an
independent 501(c)3 non profit organization separate from University
governance. ASUCadvocates for students on a University, local, state, and national level
and represents the student body on administrative campus committees.

Features:
The dining tab allows you to view which dining halls are open alongside their respective
menus for the day (bonus: It gives you the calorie count for each food item too! Gotta
watch out for that freshmen 15). It also has a Bear Transit tab that shows approximate
times each transit line will arrive at a certain location. You can even find out whether
walking would take less time than taking Bear Transit! After hitting the dining halls, you
would consider opening the Gym tab to see which gyms are open and where they are
located. If you're not feeling extremely fit, the Library tab also tells you the opening hours
of every library on campus with their respective locations.

Notable recaps from the 2nd ASUC meeting held in the new senate Chambers.
Berkeley Art Studio
Popular of its graphic design classes, this branch of ASUC aims to implement new
changes to better improved the program. As we know, the studio provides art instruction
for the public and discounted classes for students in knitting, digital imaging, printmaking,
video, and more. This semester alone, they received a record enrollment of 431 students
and plan to offer more digital design classes in the new calendar year. Due to
the relocation of the Marketing Department from MLK, the vacant space will be used by
the studio starting in June 2016.
CGI U Conference
The Clinton Global Initiative University, established in 2007 by President Clinton to

engage the next generation of leaders on college campuses around the world. Every
year, CGI U hosts a meeting where students, university representatives, topic experts,
and celebrities come together to discuss and develop innovative solutions to pressing
global challenges. Mainly, the issues being focused are Education, Environment and
Climate Change, Peace and Human Rights, Poverty Alleviation, and Public Health. The
2016 meeting will be held at our very own campus on April 1­3, 2016.

Awarding scholarships up to $1000 per year, the Berkeley Student Foundation aims to
encourage minority groups to enrol and stay at UC Berkeley. If you are a Native
American, African­American, Chicano/Latino, Pacific Islander, Southeast Asian, or Multi­
ethnic students, you are eligible to win! Awards may be given per year and have a max
amount of $4000. All funds acquired are deposited to campus undergraduate financial
aid office usage will be evaluated based on financial need.
