Editor's Notes
(Pre-Start slide)
Hello everyone. Welcome to today’s presentation “Visualize Data and See Your Business Clearly with SEQUEL”. Today you will see how fast and easy it is to get to your data and uncover previously unknown information that will empower your organization to new heights.
About today’s session, if you have questions during the session, please use the CHAT feature and send a message to All Panelists, and we will address those questions during our Q&A at the conclusion of the webinar.
I am also recording the webinar and we will follow-up with you with a link to the recording within a day or two.

The agenda today cover the three areas where Sequel make it easy to see your business clearly. The data is real time, spot anomalies and trends and share the results safely. And will end with a brief demo of Sequel.
Timeliness of the data that get into the hands of executives, management or business analysts is just as important as accuracy information. Old data or inaccurate data are equally bad.
It is vital to be accurate but without timely data your business could be left far behind.
If IT or business users must copy the definitions or the actual data, the time lag grows and the information goes stale. Real time data is the biggest requirement in today’s fast paced business world.
Many organizations mount large monitors with dashboards showing data like production runs or sales tracking. Dashboards with auto refresh allow data to be shown in mere minutes after it’s hit the database.
Business users don’t want be concerned about what is happening for them to see the data. They only want the visualization so they can make decisions. Believe it or not, most business users want self service business access and information. The analysis begins when they can see the data, slice and dice the data, work with the data.
The most efficient way to allow the business analysts to ask questions of the data is with prompts, Dates, product numbers, account numbers, etc. are all prompt-able values.
A business users ability to drill into the data dynamically allows them to examine anomalies in the results, for example. Why did May have such a low sales in the South?
Or why is one regions revenue so much different than others. The user can dynamically drill into the data. So from one definition, business analysts can drill into whichever path the data leads them uncovering new or potentially beneficial information.
So whether from a PC short cut or browser, business users can get to the centralized, secured definition and be shown live real time data for analysis and decision making.
Whether is a simple report over one table or a complex structure needing more complex passes over the data, you should only have to build it once.
Sharing data leads to more analysis and to potentially more opportunities for your organization. But not all data should be open to everyone. We all should be aware by now that the IBMi is the most reliable, scalable and securable systems on the planet. The fact that it is securable does not mean that simply using it, all of your data is secure. Fort Knox is secure because the doors are locked. Some organizations can’t completely close their data doors due their application software vendors requirements . That is more reason to move along to the next levels and use Sequel authority. Library/ File / Field and even Row level security is available.
I will now walk you through a brief demonstration of Visualizing your data with SEQUEL.

I know there is more that can be done with SEQUEL and SEQUEL Web Interface but this was simply an intro. For those of you who have seen SEQUEL with a browser before I hope you were shown some new ideas.
Remember Sequel is a complete tool set. Whether deploying dashboards from a browser, using OLAP tables, analyze data vai dynamic drilling, creating reports or running CL Program like scripts, Sequel offers a solution that is easy to learn and use, for business users all the way to programmers.

SUGGESTED COMMENTARY:
But that’s not all Sequel can do.
Sequel is a complete data access toolset. Today we talked about just a few of Sequel’s abilities to access real-time data, view data in dashboards, and distribute reports.
As you can see, Sequel can do so much more.
Whether you need to access data in a browser, run queries, or analyze data via dynamic drill-down, Sequel is the data access tool for you.
