This document provides an agenda for an event on unpacking the Science Based Targets for Nature (SBTN) framework. The event will include an introduction and overview of SBTN, presentations on land and freshwater targets, a panel discussion, and breakout sessions on oceans, nuts and bolts of SBTN, freshwater, and land. Attendees will learn about the SBTN framework, early adopter companies, and have opportunities to discuss challenges and get involved in developing nature-based targets within science-defined limits.
2. Overview
Beginning this year, Science Based Targets for Nature v1.0 will
help companies preserve freshwater resources, regenerate land,

uncover opportunities for your company to get involved.

relationship with
nature.

without compromising the
ability of future generations
to meet their own needs.”
17. Table Discussions
These 25-30 min table discussions are designed to allow for a conversation among the
participants: to share experiences, comments, and questions. We have provided a few starter
questions to get the conversation going.
We will also have 5-6 experts floating around the room should you have a technical question or
want to engage them in your conversation.
• What brings you to this tutorial, and what are you hoping to gain?
• Please describe your internal engagement to build awareness and support for nature stewardship (land,
freshwater, biodiversity, or oceans) at your organization.
• To what degree has your organization assessed its nature-based risks? If it hasn’t, what might help initiate that
process? If it has, where do those risks prioritize among other environmental risks such as climate?
• If your organization has a tailored action plan to address nature-related challenges or a nature strategy, please
describe how it/they within your organization’s broader strategy.
• How can the environment NGO community help advance companies in their nature stewardship journey?
• What questions should we submit on the app?
