2. Individual Idea
I love films that have a slight twist at the end. This is why I wanted to create a clever horror film rather than just have a fear factor,
plus, I wanted to target a larger target audience. My idea was that a group of friends were to go on a night out or have a camping
trip somewhere secluded, to celebrate finishing their exams. I thought this would be a good idea, because this would include
students and actors/actresses would be readily available. The plot would have been as follows:
Five friends would leave the college excited, after finishing all their exams, (except one male who looks rather glum- he/she would
be one of the main characters). As they walk to a place where they can chat, they discuss going out that night to celebrate. When
they get to the place to discuss ideas, they eventually get to a decision, and afterwards get drunk at midday. This is when
somebody mentions getting drugs for their night out (a drunk suggestion) the glum person reacts to the suggestion as a brilliant
idea, with more than just ‘getting high’, purposes. Then everything else is just a build up to going out, meanwhile, the glum male
‘sorts out’ his friends with a form of ecstasy pills, so that their night won’t be one to forget! When they all eventually meet up at 11
(for example if they went clubbing), they’d all be happy and cheery, and he’d secretly pass the drugs to his friends, and they’d all
pay him. Then, things would take a turn for the worse. The drugs aren’t exactly what they first appeared to be and turn out to be
hallucinogens, and everyone's night takes a turn for the worse, (the audience don’t realise at this point that the glum boy has
stitched his friends up, however theirs a few clues i.e. the fact he’s disappointed with exams unlike everyone, showing jealousy).
Everyone, including the glum boy, appear to be ‘tripping’, and a snowball effect of a bad trip occurs. Suddenly, the characters who
took the drugs start dying one by one, however is it the drug that’s killing them or somebody? Eventually, a jump in time occurs
after the fourth person dies/ gets killed after all the craziness, and the remaining character is the glum boy who seems to have
survived, and is being questioned by police. He explains everything, and also appears to be the narrator of the film too, yet with
another flash we see a jump back in time to leaving the club as people are escorted out of the building after the 4 friends of
his/victims are found in a cubical. However as he is leaving amongst a crowd of people flowing like a flock out of the doors, you see
a ‘baggy’ drop out of his pocket. Inside the see-through bag is a pill, the one he hadn’t consumed.
I wanted to incorporate this idea into a trailer and I thought it’d be good to have a film with a really good twist at the end, but I
wouldn’t want it to be like the typical ‘cringey’ horror. I’d want it to have a clever well thought out story line, that made the glum
boy out to be an ingenious psychopathic killer, just like the film Se7en for example.

3. Group Idea
The group idea, funnily enough, turned out quite
like my own, even though half of it went off on a
tangent that was too extravagant for our low
budget film, however, this was what the group came
up with. To the right you can see that the location
turned to going to Amsterdam, which appeared to
be a good idea to the rest of the group, because it
was more ‘believable’. Also the rough idea (that a
member of the group wrote) contains a swear word,
which I apologise for if you find this offensive.
Instead of somebody planning to kill them, one of
the characters just has a bad trip and randomly kills,
and then one of his friends kills him, and gets
depressed and lives the remainder of his days
getting stoned. Which to me doesn’t sound as
appealing, but I had to just go with it.
Then when we created our storyboard I suggested
how we are going to fly on a plane and get a shot,
and so we changed it to driving to a destination,
although I still suggested that none of us have a car
and we can’t rely on others too, because what if
they aren’t available when we are, which then got
shunted aside. So the storyboard still isn’t the same
as the trailer because we couldn’t get a scene
involving a car.
Because of this I even made my own storyboard
while the other two people in my group were away
for a couple of lessons. But, when they came back,
they went back to the original story board so, the
following storyboard is our groups.
