Subject: Recommendation for Harry Roesner
To Whom It May Concern:
I am very pleased to write this letter of reference on behalf of Harry Roesner, who worked with the
Steelcase IT department. Overall, I believe Harry to be a skilled, thoughtful, and thoroughly
professional Information Technology expert in Mainframe applications and SSRS reports (SQL Server
Reporting Services).
I have worked with Harry in the IT department for over 13 years. He worked on supporting the
Manufacturing and Finance Mainframe systems for Steelcase plants being part of several small and
large projects. He developed many interfaces to integrate the Manufacturing Mainframe applications
with the new SAP applications (for Sales, Distribution, Finance, Procurement and Business
Warehouse) for several Steelcase Plant implementations. He also supported the mainframe
scheduling system (ESP).
In the past 3 years, Harry helped with supporting the most challenging implementation of SAP to the
Steelcase Wood Plant. While SAP teams were developing a completely new module, Harry had to
develop multiple jobs to collect information from the Mainframe database to SAP for design and
testing. He also learned how to navigate in many SAP modules to help trouble shoot issues.
On the second phase of this project, Harry took the leadership of developing all the SSRS reports
from Oracle databases (using Visual Studio, C++ and Web Developer). I was particular impressed by
the technical innovation and professionalism that Harry demonstrated on this project.
In closing, I would recommend Harry Roesner very highly for an IT position. He is a very bright and
hard-working person. Harry is a great team player and would express his thoughts and ideas to help
the team. He would enthusiastically embrace change, and his ability to exceeding customer
expectations was unsurpassed.
