Dear Hiring Manager,
I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Harry Roesner. Harry worked for Steelcase,
Inc. for many years as a contract employee supporting the IBM Mainframe computer. In 2011
he moved into a group supporting a manufacturing plant’s processes, software applications and
shop floor paperwork that I am the team leader of.
Harry quickly learned our software applications and became a vital member of our team. In the
first month after joining our team he was able to be added to our on-call rotation, which is a 24/7
support for the manufacturing plant. This was an impressive accomplishment in such a short
period of time.
The past two years we have been on a path to eliminate the IBM Mainframe computer as we
migrated to SAP Manufacturing applications. Harry was instrumental in not only supporting the
mainframe applications throughout the migration, but also migrating shop floor reporting to SQL
Server Reporting Services (SSRS). While developing SSRS reports he integrated C Sharp
utilities to automate the reporting process, very intuitive thinking that helped our overall
applications!
The user community Harry supported is very wide, ranging from management to the
manufacturing line employee. His ability to listen and interpret his customers’ needs, then
develop solutions were invaluable, always taking the extra step to ensure each customer’s request
were met. He was very well liked and sought after by his user community.
Harry is a hardworking and eager to learn professional. I am confident he will make a positive
