Re: Dr Harini Laxminarayan
Harini volunteered at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust between the
period from 19 October 2015 to 4 April 2016 and completed 30 hours of volunteering.
Volunteers are required to attend on a weekly basis, for one session of two hours,
throughout the programme.
Harini volunteered as a Ward Volunteer where she was able to provide social contact for
patients and assist staff with non-clinical tasks.
Examples of the support volunteers may provide include:
 Chatting to patients and running errands for them.
 Helping patients to choose their meals using the menus and aids available.
 Assisting staff to encourage patients to eat and drink.
 Helping with the distribution of food and beverages.
