As we know, oil is the most important natural resource of the industrialized nations. It
can generate heat, drive machinery and fuel vehicles and airplanes. Its components are
used to manufacture almost all chemical products, such as plastics, detergents, paints, and
even medicines. And one of the most companies that produce oil in sultanate of Oman is
Shell.
Shell has been active in the Sultanate of Oman since 1958; the main offices in Oman are
based in Muscat – Mina Al Fatal. Over 150 Shell retail service stations strategically
located throughout the Sultanate. It has reached a Romanization level that exceeds 89%,
also it owns and operates Oman's only oil blending plant.
The aim of this project is to create a system that counts numbers of fuels containers that
will be suitable to use by the staff.
Our project is about oil sales and inventory system of Oman shell. We have figure out that
the shell company has a few issues which make some employee complain about it. The
main problem is when the fuel container been delivered to the company, they start
counting it manually .Which causes a confusion to the workers, may lead a huge mistakes
in statistics that can cause major problems to the employer. Also it takes a lot of time to
count a big amount of fuels containers.
That’s why we want to analyze the problem and to find solutions, to make the system way
more easily to count the fuels containers automatically and to save time. We found the
information’s needed by making questionnaires and interview.
Introduction
a) Background of the study:
• As we know the shell company counts the oil
containers by themselves without using any specific
computer system, in our project we have make
interview and questionnaire to collect information
about the company and our main purpose is to
help them to create a computer system.
b)Statement of problem:
• There are few issues which makes the
staff complain about, the main problem
that we have noticed in shell company
that they don`t have a computer system to
count the containers. The company must
think about it and they have to start
creating such system.
Objectives of the study:
• Our aim in this project is to help shell companies
staff to count the number of containers that come
daily through shipping from other countries. To
make this happen we innovated a system in
which one of the staff will have control of it, this
system will count how many containers that
come in the company in a daily bases, and at the
end of the week one of the staff has to count the
total of the oil containers manually.
• This system is made to minimize the work of the
staff and to avoid errors in counting.
General Objective:
• Help shell company to avoid their problems and think of new
idea.
Specific Objective:
• To create a computer system to help the staff to count the
containers
Shell aims to provide energy safely and responsibly and
serve all its STAKEHOLDERS, customers and investors
effectively.
Two key aims of the Shell Group are:
• To engage efficiently, responsibly and profitably in
oil, gas, chemicals and other businesses
• To participate in the search for and development of
other sources of energy to meet evolving customer
needs and the world's growing demand for energy.

We are group of students Hajer AlRiyami and Ghadeer from Nizwa college of
Technology .We are working to improve the system .We are looking for the
main cause of system problems .Our aim is to make new system which is
suitable for all. We would like you to participate in this research study by
completing attached survey.
The following questionnaire will require approximately a week to complete. The
answers must be clear and has relevant to the survey topic.
Thank you for taking the time to assist us in our educational work. We hopefully
can get the best solutions to develop the system .We are waiting for your

Recommendations
 Decrease the number of work and reduce the amount of error that might occur
while counting the containers.
 Create a new idea to make the system easy and comfortable for the workers and
people.
 Reduce the waiting period between the staff and staffs from another
country.
After conduct the meeting with the team member. The right solution for the
problem mentioned above is to create a system that counts numbers of fuels
containers that will be suitable to use by the staff.
The reason why stakeholders should accept the suggestion?
To make the system way more easily to count the fuels containers automatically and
to save time.
Summary
We have been working together to collect the information’s needed
by making questionnaires and interview the problem. We identify
the problem and Stakeholders related to the problem. Also we
collect the hard data and summarize how this document will help
in creating a new system.
We write the reason for suggest the solution for the problem
mentioned above.
Conclusion
Thanks for all staff people who work with us to help develop this
project in possible way.
We avoid their problems and create a computer system to help the
staff to count the containers.
This project really helps us to improve our experience through this
activity.
Thank you
