Using Tourism for Social Good
1. HTMResearch Cuban Donation Drive
The trade embargo imposed on Cuba by the United States since 1962, has restricted many
Cubans access to basic necessities such as food, clothing, and school supplies. An overwhelming
majority of Cubans live on only $20 US a month. Despite renewed relations with the Americans,
the embargo is still in effect and many Cubans continue to live in severe poverty. You have the
power to do something about it TODAY. HTMResearch has started a donation drive for Cuba
and we are asking for your help. Please donate toiletries, small containers of dental and bath
essentials, electronics, school supplies, and other small essentials.
Dr. Rachel Dodds, the Director of HTMResearch, will be traveling to Cuba October 5, 2016, and
will use this trip as an opportunity to transport donated items to the island. Help HTMResearch
and Dr. Dodds with our initiative to deliver well needed supplies to families in need.
The HTMResearch Cuban Donation Drive will be accepting your kind donations starting:
September 26th at our office located at TRS 3-175.
