3. What is developmental
theory?
Developmental theories define and
explain the systemic ways of how
humans develop their thinking and
grow from a baby to an adult also the
changes they face during this period of
time.
4. Erikson’s psychosocial
developmental theory
Erikson’s psychosocial developmental theory consists
of 8 stages
In each stage the person might have to face a
psychosocial related problem which can have a
positive or negative impact on personality
development
According to the theory if the person completes the
stages successfully the result will be an unexpectedly
a good personality. Meanwhile, if the person was
unable to complete the stages successfully the result
can be a bad personality. Furthermore 8 stages are
associated with corresponding age range.

8. Role of heredity
Heredity is defined as the way in which
characteristics and physical features passed on from
parents to their baby (Sincero ,2013). Physical
features such as hair color, eye color, weight and
height are called traits. These traits contain genetic
information which is stored in genes. “These genes
are found in strands of DNA referred to as
chromosomes” (Sincero ,2013, p.2). Genetics can
influence on people’s behavior as well. Also, there
are genetically inherited diseases such as downs
drome.
