1. Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to
become the best you are capable of becoming. ~ Coach John Wooden
Dear XXX,
Thank you for your continued support of KidWorks. You make a difference every day in the lives of
over 800 at-risk children in central Santa Ana.
Legendary Coach John Wooden once defined success as: “…peace of mind which is a direct result of self-
satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming.” Wooden
has mentored some of the most legendary athletes to participate in the UCLA basketball program,
including, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Bill Walton. Throughout his astonishing career, that has included
the never repeated winning of seven consecutive NCAA championships, Wooden exemplified his
definition of success.
Today, as we celebrate the passing of this extraordinary coach and mentor, we would like to give you
the gift of Coach’s wisdom, courtesy of an interview with Terry Donahue. This fall, KidWorks will be
featuring one of Coach Wooden’s players, Bill Walton as the guest speaker at the Foundation for Success
luncheon. Please join us for an inspiring, entertaining presentation about the meaning of basketball and
life.
KidWorks continues to grow and thrive, working to achieve ‘peace of mind’ as we become the very best
we can be for the children who so desperately need us. Thank you for your continued support of our
mission, we couldn’t be successful without you!
Warmest regards,
