MOLYVAN®
855 is an exceptional oil and fuel-soluble molybdenum ester/amide friction reducer with antiwear and
antioxidant properties. Unlike other molybdenum friction reducers, it does not contain sulfur or phosphorus and is
useful in a wide range of automotive and industrial lubricants.

MOLYVAN®
855 demonstrated excellent friction retention in a fully formulated engine oil containing 700 ppm
molybdenum. The engine oil was aged in the High Temperature Corrosion Bench Test (HTCBT) for 48 hours at
165°C. The friction coefficient was measured with an SRV®
test machine at the following test conditions: ball on
disc, 400 N, 50 Hz, 1.5 mm stroke and a temperature ramp from 40°C to 120°C.

855 Friction Reducer demonstrated superior performance in the Sequence VID engine test. Both test
oils were low phosphorus, fully formulated, 5W-20 engine oils with GF-4 additive technology. The test oils
contained either 700 ppm molybdenum or non-molybdenum friction reducer.

MOLYVAN®
855 Friction Reducer showed a significant wear advantage in a fully formulated motor oil versus a
competitor’s molybdenum additive after aging both engine oils in the HTCBT for 48 hours at 165°C followed by
