Unlike other molybdenum friction reducers, it does not contain sulfur or phosphorus and is useful in a wide range of automotive and industrial lubricants. Figure 1 MOLYVAN® 855 Friction Reducer Aged Friction Retention ® MOLYVAN 855 MOLYVAN 855® MOLYVAN® 855 demonstrated excellent friction retention in a fully formulated engine oil containing 700 ppm molybdenum. The engine oil was aged in the High Temperature Corrosion Bench Test (HTCBT) for 48 hours at 165°C. The friction coefficient was measured with an SRV® test machine at the following test conditions: ball on disc, 400 N, 50 Hz, 1.5 mm stroke and a temperature ramp from 40°C to 120°C.
