Gregory Zed is the Zone Manager of Addictions and Mental Health Services for Zone 2 in Sussex, NB. He has a Master of Social Work and Health Administration from Dalhousie University and maintains an active caseload. Zed has presented at national and international conferences on topics like suicide intervention. He oversees all programs dealing with Mental Health and the Law in his zone and has received several awards for his professional and volunteer work in the community.

1. Gregory Zed is currently the Zone Manager of Addictions and Mental Health
Services for Zone 2 in Sussex, NB. His educational background includes a Master
of Social Work and Health Administration Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS. He
continues to be a Faculty Resource Social Worker maintaining an active caseload
of both inpatients and outpatients which provides him with an opportunity to keep
up-to-date with current trends in mental health as well as utilize his clinical skills.
Greg has presented at many national and international conferences throughout
his career, including a paper titled, “The Development and Implementation of
Suicide Intervention in New Brunswick” at the American Association of
Suicidology conference in 2007. He also holds the distinction as a Forensic
Suicidologist and oversees all programs dealing with Mental Health and the Law in
his Zone. Greg has been involved with numerous community organizations. He is
currently past president of the Schizophrenia Society of New Brunswick and Co-
Chair of the Rothesay Chapter, Terry FoxFoundation Marathon. He is also past
president of the Saint John Boys and Girls Club and a Life Member. Over the
years, Greg has received several awards recognizing both his professional and
volunteer work, including Dr. Michael J. Smith Award for outstanding professional
in the field of Mental Health in Canada and the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal.
For his extensive community engagement Greg is recognized as a Paul Harris
Fellow, a distinction bestowed on him by the Rotary Club of Saint John. Greg
continues to remain very active in his community and his church as a Lay Minister.
