Did you know that if a full-scale war ever broke out between humans and bacteria, we would all be outnumbered - yes, the entire population of Earth - by the buggy little microorganisms in just one person’s mouth? Yes, there are more bacteria in each of our mouths than there are people on the planet. No wonder maintaining our dental health and hygiene isn’t easy, but requires a lifelong commitment.
The common perception is that if you’re brushing your teeth twice a day, and flossing at least once, then you’ve done quite enough for your oral hygiene. However, true dental care requires a lot more effort than simply cleaning your teeth. You have to think about your tongue and gums as well, and of course, we cannot ignore the bacteria which call our mouths home.
