2. THE MEANING OF “TIME”
Time is one of the many mysteries of life. It can be explained in many ways,
most of which are incredibly confusing, complicated, or just too much to take
in. My goal is to help people understand the meaning of time.
3. TIME FRAMES
Time frames are like video recordings. Each picture, or frame, is like one
millisecond in time. As each “frame” passes, something moves or changes in
the universe. You see, these “frames” already exist. That means the future
already exists, and the past is still there. This is because our future is already
happening as we speak, but… not as we speak. The future, past and present
are all happening at the same time, but not. What I mean is that right now,
(but not right now), Benjamin Franklin is inventing the fireplace, except in the
past. At the same time, George Washington dies, and we‟re exploring Jupiter.
All of these events are happening at the same time, but at different times. If
we can reach and move faster than the time frames shift, we could travel
through time. It‟s like a video tape. Each one has a picture that flashes very,
very, very fast. In order to travel through time we‟d have to travel faster than
the pictures flash.
4. SLOWING DOWN TIME
Believe it or not, time slows down when we walk, or even if we move. If I was to
wiggle a finger, time would slow down. Basically, when you move, you‟re
changing your potential future. Say that when I grow up, I become a
construction worker, but if I, for example, pick a certain flower, I change my
future into me becoming a traveling salesman. This is also kind of a bad
example, because this is also a demonstration of alternate realities and parallel
universes, which aren‟t technically part of time. This „slowing time down‟ was
proven to be true using two clocks and a jet plane. There were scientists both on
the jet plane and in the airport. They placed one clock on the plane, and one in
the airport. Then, they flew around the world, and returned to the airport. When
they compared the clocks, the airplane clock was one fraction of a millisecond
behind the airport clock. This test proves that if we move fast enough, time will
slow down.
5. ALTERNATE REALITIES
Alternate realities aren‟t a real part of time, but they do kind of link to it. When
you choose to do something, you‟re choosing an already-existing fate. The
other choices you make also exist, but not in time, but in other dimensions, if
they exist. For those who still don‟t understand, (no offense); it‟s like a multiple
choice test. There‟s four answers. You choose A, but you could have chosen B,
C, or D. Each of these choices leads to another fate, except in reality, there
aren‟t correct answers. Then, each answer leads to another four choices. It
goes on and on forever, and each answer has its own alternate choices and
results. It really is the choices you make that effect who you are.
6. TIME TRAVEL
In the future, time travel may be possible. Moving faster than time can pass is
almost impossible to accomplish, and the technology that cam allow us to do
this won‟t come for another thousand years or something. If we do
accomplish this, we can travel through time at will. We must remember that if
we change something in the past though, as I said in „Slowing Down Time‟, I‟d
change my future self (or present self, in this case) if I did even a little thing.
You‟d have to only observe, not get involved. Also, you can‟t create a time
loop. I don‟t know the real name for this situation, so I‟ll refer to it as a time
loop. A time loop is when you go back in time and create a loop. It‟s simple to
make, but extremely difficult to escape. Say, you go back 3 seconds in time.
You‟d return to where you were 3 seconds ago, and another you, one from
the „future‟, would go back 3 seconds. This process would continue forever,
effectively duplicating yourself unless you find a way to end it. Besides being
awesome, time travel can also be very dangerous.
7. THAT’S ALL FOR NOW!
That‟s all I really have to offer about time
right now, considering the amount of
research time we had to work on this
project. Bye!
