Livelihoods Venture is an impact investment fund that works with large corporations to transform their supply chains and support rural communities through land management projects. It has 12 investor companies and a portfolio of 21 projects across Africa, Asia, and Latin America focused on agroforestry, mangroves, efficient cookstoves, and other areas. While climate funding and discussions of solutions are growing, results have been limited and scaling remains a challenge. Livelihoods Venture aims to address this by bringing more private sector actors into partnerships, designing broader coalitions, transforming relationships with farmers, and investing in results-based models that mitigate risks.
