2. World Mental Health Month 2023 is
an opportunity for people and
communities to unite behind the
theme ‘Mental health is a universal
human right” to improve knowledge,
raise awareness and drive actions
that promote and protect everyone’s
mental health as a universal human
right.
3. Mental health is a basic human right for all
people. Everyone, whoever and wherever
they are, has a right to the highest
attainable standard of mental health. This
includes the right to be protected from
mental health risks, the right to available,
accessible, acceptable, and good quality
care, and the right to liberty,
independence and inclusion in the
community.
4. “one voice, one heart,
one future: mental
health for all, anti-

negative physical, social, emotional, academic,

are more likely to experience:
•Depression and anxiety, increased feelings of

unwell.
17. 1 in 10 young people experience a
mental health problem.
18. It’s important to talk about mental
health and get help early if things
don’t feel right, just like we would
for our physical health.
20. 1. Inability to work or go to school
2. Difficulty in relationship or taking care of children.
3. Increased risk of health issues.
4. Hospitalization
5. Suicide
26. Good nutrition significantly affects our mental health.
A healthy, well-balanced diet can help us think clearly
and feel more alert. It can also improve concentration
and attention span.
Having an inadequate diet can lead to fatigue, impaired
decision-making, and can slow down reaction time.
A poor diet can actually aggravate, and may even lead to,
stress and depression.
28. Exercise releases chemicals like endorphins
and serotonin that improve your mood.
It can also get you out in the world, help to
reduce any feelings of loneliness and
isolation, and put you in touch with other
people.
Play and sports teaches children teamwork,
problem-solving skills, socialization and boosts
self esteem
30. Family relationships provide resources that can help an
individual cope with stress, engage in healthier behaviors,
and enhance self-esteem, leading to higher well-being.
Ways to strengthen family bonds by
*Being kind to one another.
*Eating dinner together. (Meal time is an excellent place to share
your day with your family)

33. *Feeling safe is critical to students' learning and mental
health.

responsibility, and kindness.
*Prevent negative behaviors such as bullying and
harassment.
*Provide easily understood rules of conduct and fair
discipline practices and
*Ensure an adult presence in common areas such as
hallways, locker rooms, and playgrounds
35. Seeking help is important and should never be stigmatized. By
reaching out, you'll help break the stigma associated with
conditions like anxiety and depression. At the same time,
you'll make sure that you find the right level of care and social
support that you need.
Addressing a problem early makes it more likely you can turn
things around before this happens. It’s also helpful to deal with
thoughts and behaviors before they have the chance to
become a pattern or habit.
