17. Project Brief
Terraces houses are common and familiar housing complex that can be found all over the country. The
architectural style was developed in the 16th century, where rows of identical houses run down a street
to create a warm neighbour environment. My ‘museum of good’ is the Sun. For my concept idea I fo-
cused on light play in nature created by the sun because of the earth’s constant movement.
The space is divided into four sections that flow organically into each other. The spiral layout takes the
user on an all most stemless journey through first floor starting in the Art gallery, then the ‘Science of
the Sun’ walk and lastly the relaxation room.
Location:
Glasgow, Scotland
Catergory:
The gift shop is located on the second floor where the user can purchase items that capture the expe-
rience and also take a photo in the booth. The museum is targeted at families and young people age
12 to 18. It offers a unique opportunity to learn more about our solar system and the sun, through
modern and ancient religious art and interesting educational facts.
