WE BRING TOGETHER MUSIC-LOVERS
FOR ORCHESTRAL ADVENTURES
▽ Open Sessions
Open Sessions are drop-in readings that are open to
all musicians, and free for everybody. These orchestral
adventures remove barriers that can come with a
traditional orchestra such as high costs, formality, or
repertoire.
▽ Special Events
A hybrid of an orchestra and a band, we work with
artists and ensembles for special events,
collaborations, and recordings.
WHAT WE DO
3. 1 FOUNDER
Conductor and Founding Artistic Director David Möschler is
an award-winning musical director and conductor. Equally at
home in a pit orchestra, a rock or jazz band, the recording
studio, on the concert stage, or academia, he has led
Awesöme Orchestra on hundreds of musical adventures.
5+ PART TIME STAFF AND INTERNS
Our awesome staff work in development, communications,
operations, stage management, and our music library.
24+ AMBASSADORS AND VOLUNTEERS
Our ambassadors and volunteers ensure that our musicians
have everything the need to play together and have fun!
2,000+ MUSICIANS
Over 2,000 musicians have played with us since our
founding. About 1/3 of the musicians at every Open Session
are new to playing with Awesöme Orchestra.

5. WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
NOT YOUR GRANDMA’S ORCHESTRA
“Once or twice a month in the East Bay, violinists and
bass-players, flautists and trumpeters – gather to play
orchestra music. But instead of a concert hall, they meet in
warehouses or museums. No one’s wearing
a tie or gown, and the group hasn’t rehearsed.
They play a few pieces together and
swill free beer between sets.”
THE ORCHESTRAL JAM SESSIONS
“Immediately, the musicians and audience members packed
inside San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater
Costume Shop erupted into loud applause
And hollers....Such raucous enthusiasm
encapsulates one of the reasons why
Awesöme Orchestra is so popular.”
