Genavieve Pitts outlines a persuasive speech on lowering the prices of college textbooks. The speech argues that textbook prices are too high for three main reasons: frequent new editions with minor changes are published, textbooks are often bundled with expensive software, and professors prioritize book quality over price. Some proposed solutions are for textbook companies to stop frequent new editions and for bundled items to be sold separately. Overall, lowering textbook prices would help reduce student debt burden from high tuition costs.
