● Ask him to introduce you to a staff person
as a contact
○ Contact willingly gives you billing codes
○ You and contact arrange a method to give you
codes via fax, or email etc

6. If possible pick a specialty with the
highest average reimbursement
● Neuro/Spine; Sports Med; Plastics;
Bariatrics; OBGyn; General (listed from
best to least)

7. Find out what percentage of
surgeon’s caseload is Medicare
● Because if you’re not an NP you can’t bill Medicare,
all those cases most likely $0
● Therefore the lower the percentage the better
