2. What is faith?
It is the confident assurance that
what we hope for is going to happen.
It is the evidence of things
we cannot yet see
Heb 11:1 NLT
Living by Faith
3. The life I live in the body,
I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave himself for me
Gal 2:20b

4. Our faith pleases God
… without faith it is impossible
to please God
Heb 11:6
Living by Faith
5. Our faith will be tested
though now for a little while you may have had to
suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so
that the proven genuineness of your faith - of
greater worth than gold, which perishes even though
refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and
honour when Jesus Christ is revealed
1 Peter 1:6-7

7. To live without hope
is to cease to live
Fyodor Dostoevsky
Living in Hope
8. God is the source of real hope
May the God of hope fill you with all
joy and peace as you trust in him,
so that you may overflow with hope by
the power of the Holy Spirit
Rom 15:13
Living in Hope
9. Hope for the weary
but those who hope in the LORD will renew
their strength. They will soar on wings like
eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint
Isaiah 40:31
Living in Hope
10. Hope for the disappointed
Then you will know that I am the LORD;
those who hope in me
will not be disappointed
Isaiah 49:23

11. Hope for the future
while we wait for the blessed hope –
the glorious appearing of our great God
and Saviour, Jesus Christ

12. Love must be the priority
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but
have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a
clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and
can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if
I have a faith that can move mountains, but have
not love, I am nothing.
Living with Love
13. Love must be the priority
If I give all I possess to the poor
and surrender my body to the flames,
but have not love, I gain nothing
1 Cor 13:1-3
Living with Love
14. Love must be practical
Dear children,
let us not love with words or tongue
but with actions and in truth
1 John 3:18
Living with Love
15. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy,
it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude,
it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it
keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not
delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It
always protects, always trusts, always hopes,
always perseveres – 1 Cor 13:4-7
Living with Love
16. Love must be practical
A new command I give you: Love one another.
As I have loved you, so you must love one
another. By this all men will know that you are
my disciples, if you love one another.
John 13:34-35
Living with Love
17. Love is permanent
Love never fails. But where there are
prophecies, they will cease; where there are
tongues, they will be stilled; where there is
knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in
part and we prophesy in part, but when
perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
Living with Love
18. Love is permanent
When I was a child … When I became a man …
Now we see but a poor reflection as in a
mirror; then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully,
even as I am fully known
1 Cor 13:8-12
Living with Love
19. And now these three remain:
faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love
1 Cor 13:13
Living with Love
20. We remember before our God and Father your
work produced by faith,
your labour prompted by love,
and your endurance inspired by hope
in our Lord Jesus Christ
1 Thess 1:3
Living with Love
21. • FAITH makes all things possible
• HOPE makes all things bright
• LOVE makes all things easy
