Overcome Fear with God's Love and Power
1.
2. The more we learn to turn to and depend on God, the more He is able to help us overcome
our fears.
God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)
3. God loves you dearly,
more dearly than the
spoken word can tell.
You can never
understand the love
of God. It's too great;
it passes all
understanding. You
just have to receive it
and feel it with your
heart.
May you experience
the love of Christ,
though it is too great
to understand fully.
(Ephesians 3:19)
4. Regardless of how
we may happen to
feel, we can know
that our relationship
with Jesus is firm
and that His love for
us is unwavering. He
says:
“I will never leave
you or forsake you.”
(Hebrews 13:5)
5. All of us sin, and each of us falls short of the glory of God. Like the unforgiving servant, we
each owe a huge debt to God—a debt so large that none of us can ever repay it. Through
Jesus, God forgives that debt; but He also calls us to forgive others in like manner.
Forgive anyone who does you wrong, just as Christ has forgiven you. (Colossians 3:12-13)
6. As part of the new creation, God’s
Spirit changes us, helping us to put
on the mind of Christ, as we
develop and reflect some of God’s
characteristics by growing in love,
joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,
and self-control.
The fruit of the spirit is love, joy,
peace, patience, gentleness,
goodness faith, meekness and
moderation. (Galatians 5:22-23)
7. If you want to reach
your goals, you cannot
give up. The end result
will be worthwhile.
Let’s not get tired of
doing what is good. At
just the right time we
will reap a harvest of
blessing if we don’t give
up. (Galatians 6:9)
8. We're to "run with patience the
race that is set before us," which is
serving the Lord however and
wherever He has called us. And
the only way we can have the
patience we need to run and win
this race is by doing what?
"Looking unto Jesus, the author
and finisher of our faith". So keep
your eyes on Jesus!
We are surrounded by a great
cloud of witnesses. Let us run with
patience the race that is set before
us, looking unto Jesus. (Hebrews
12:1-2)
9. Jesus came to love the world, and He calls us to do likewise in every facet of life.
Be gentle and kind to everyone.—Titus 3:2 CEV
10. As you enjoy all the blessings of life, stop
and think about what meager
circumstances Jesus was born into. He
had so much, yet became so little. He
became nothing so that we could have
everything. All that we have, we owe to
Him.
You know the grace of our Lord Jesus
Christ, that though he was rich, yet for
your sake he became poor, so that you
through his poverty might become rich.
(2 Corinthians 8:9)
