• Collaborated on the development of a new income tax services application, hosted on WeChat, in Java with Spring MVC
framework, which was released as a beta version for a province with a population of 70 million in August.
• Studied Spring MVC concepts and assisted in implementing 10 controllers that delegate different requests to their
corresponding service logics.
• Researched on WeChat’s Javascript SDK and integrated its built-in functionalities, such as Wallet, Uploader and Scanner,
into our webpages to enhance user experience and efficiency.
• Used WeChat API to create an interface that directs users to relevant resources and handles inquiries with automated replies.

Data On Map
• Built a program that is able to read, analyze and visualize any geo-tagged data from live RSS feeds or CSV files and display
them on a world map interactively for users to gain deeper insights on data, aided by a GUI in Java.
• Examples include a map that visualizes detailed information on global earthquakes and one on global life expectancy.
Random Speech Generator With New Method
• Branched out from a parts-of-speech-tagging project by using Hidden Markov Model to generate random speech in Python.
• Compared the speeches’ literal and grammatical accuracy with those generated by the common Markov Model.
Data Parsing and Cleaning
• Preprocessed the raw data of nearly 6,000,000 mobile carrier users in Python for a data mining project which studies
customers’ behaviors and formulate commercial targeting strategies for four business districts in Shanghai.
Leadership & Volunteer Experience

• Contributed to the founding of a student-initiated club that aims to promote entrepreneurship on campus.
• Reached out to 30 Houston-based high-tech start-ups and hosted bi-weekly lunch talks for entrepreneurs to discuss their
technological innovations and entrepreneurial experiences with 20-30 attendants.
