Since 1993, the LifeFlight Training Academy has been a respected industry leader in
all aspects of Helicopter Emergency Medical Services training.
The LifeFlight Training Academy provides integrated training
solutions for pilots, aircrew, doctors and paramedics across a
wide range of mission critical profiles including:

	 Search and Rescue
		 Resources: mining, oil and gas
As an aeromedical provider for more than 30 years, LifeFlight
Training Academy instructors are operational professionals
with extensive experience.
LifeFlight Training Academy instructors have trained
thousands of HEMS and Aviation professionals since 1993,
as well as more than 30,000 ADF personnel over a 10
year period.The training provided to ADF was delivered in
purpose-built training facilities as well as remote locations, all
with a 100% safety record.
THALES LIFEFLIGHT SIMULATION CENTRE
In a significant milestone for HEMS and civil helicopter
operators, global aerospace and defence company,Thales
has partnered with LifeFlight to provide a world class, high
fidelity, full flight simulation training experience that is
accessible and affordable.
Located within the LifeFlight Training Academy, the Thales
LifeFlight Simulation Centre features the Thales Reality H
AW139 Level D Full Flight Simulator.
The Simulation Centre is housed in a brand-new, purpose
built facility – located within the Brisbane International Airport
Precinct – and provides a convenient and effective solution
for high-performance AW139 aircrew training.
The Thales LifeFlight Simulation Centre is a one-stop-shop for
complex training needs for all AW139 aircrew.

The LifeFlight Training Academy is located within a state-of-the-art,
purpose built training facility located in the heart of the
Brisbane International Airport Precinct.
Situated on the East Coast of Australia, the Academy is located 15 minutes from Brisbane’s central
business and entertainment districts and within a short car ride from some of our most breathtaking
beaches and nature reserves.
The easily accessible airport precinct offers accommodation, dining and shopping options for the
aviation professional, with further options available within the Brisbane CBD.

&BASESAs a diversified emergency service operation;
a rotary and fixed wing platform, LifeFlight operates:
»	 11 HEMS/SAR equipped rescue helicopters
»	 3 Air Ambulance jets
»	From 14 locations throughout a vast region
along Australia’s east coast
In addition, LifeFlight’s dedicated Central
Coordination Centre is responsible for the tasking
and rostering of more than 420 flight crew,
medical support officers, doctors, training crew,
and administration personnel.
LifeFlight’s internationally recognised Training
Academy provides a broad range of training
options for both LifeFlight’s own staff as well as
external operators.
LifeFlight holds a major contract supplying
doctors to Queensland Health for emergency
retrievals and hospital transfers, as well as
consultants to the Queensland Coordination
Centre (QCC), which coordinates all emergency
rescues across the State.
OIL AND GAS OPERATIONAL EXPERIENCE
LifeFlight currently delivers air medical evacuation
services to a consortium of competing global
resource companies involved in the Coal Seam
Gas/Liquid Natural Gas industry in South-West
Queensland.
Under this highly complex shared services
agreement, LifeFlight has fulfilled and exceeded
its operational and contractual obligations, while
conforming to the highly demanding International
Oil and Gas Producers Association Standards.
As part of the project, LifeFlight has operated
three high-specification AME aircraft within its
fleet. LifeFlight established base support facilities
throughout the contract service area and
developed customised touring rosters for its pilots
and aircrew.
LifeFlight’s success and operational excellence
in the role has seen the development of a world
class AME service operating to OGP standard.This
standard has become an operational benchmark.

The Thales Reality H AW139 civil helicopter
simulator is a state-of-the-art Full Flight Simulator
designed to deliver advanced mission-oriented,
high fidelity training for AW139 helicopter crews.
Reality H is the most advanced civil helicopter
simulator on the market today supported by a
powerful image-generation system with a large
field-of-view, full instructor control, high-accuracy
and unique Hexaline™ motion, 3 axis vibration
system and highly realistic pilot controls providing
the most immersive experience for the trainees.
The simulator has achieved certification to
European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Level
D through the Certification Specifications for
Helicopter Flight Simulation Training Devices
(CS-FSTD[H]).This certification is the highest level of
accreditation in Full Flight Simulator fidelity and has
also been qualified by the Australian Civil Aviation
Safety Authority (CASA) for Level D compliance.

The LifeFlight Training Academy provides integrated training solutions
for pilots, aircrew, doctors and paramedics in simulated scenarios.
The Academy offers an assessment of the client’s training needs and will develop
tailor-made solutions across a range of mission profiles:

The Academy is able to utilise more than 30 years operational experience in
aeromedical rescue to provide experienced instructors who are current in the industry.

Located within the LifeFlight Training Academy,
the Thales LifeFlight Simulation Centre provides
a customer-focused environment for flight
simulation training.
The dedicated facility features the first Thales-
built Reality H AW139 Level D Full Flight Simulator
and sets the safety and training standard in
innovative AW139 aircrew training.
Specifically designed for oil and gas, search
and rescue, emergency services helicopter
operators, the Reality H AW139 Level D Full Flight
Simulator provides outstanding realism for
mission training.
Compliant to Level D according to JAA/EASA regulation
requirements, the Reality H AW139 Level D Full Flight
Simulator enables pilots to maintain their qualification
required by regulatory authorities including:

largest – and third most populous – state.
Nestled on the breathtaking Moreton Bay, Brisbane is able to boast
internationally acclaimed dining and shopping venues; inspired arts and
entertainment precincts; as well as access to world-renowned beaches,
tropical rainforests and incredible Australian outback experiences.
Brisbane is home to 2.3 million people, making it Australia’s third largest

Incredibly, the LifeFlight Training Academy is only a 50
minute drive (north) from the Gold Coast; and a 50
minute drive (south) from the Sunshine Coast – both
locations are widely considered to share the finest
beaches in the country between them.
Indeed, pristine coastline and undisturbed beaches
stretch for hundreds of kilometres along the south-east
Queensland coast. It is a sight to behold!
It is highly recommended you make a stop at either of
these internationally recognised and celebrated resort
towns during your stay in the area.

Located within the LifeFlight Training Academy, the Thales LifeFlight Simulation Centre features the Thales Reality H AW139 Level D Full Flight Simulator. The Simulation Centre is housed in a brand-new, purpose built facility – located within the Brisbane International Airport Precinct – and provides a convenient and effective solution for high-performance AW139 aircrew training. OIL AND GAS OPERATIONAL EXPERIENCE LifeFlight currently delivers air medical evacuation services to a consortium of competing global resource companies involved in the Coal Seam Gas/Liquid Natural Gas industry in South-West Queensland. Under this highly complex shared services agreement, LifeFlight has fulfilled and exceeded its operational and contractual obligations, while conforming to the highly demanding International Oil and Gas Producers Association Standards. As part of the project, LifeFlight has operated three high-specification AME aircraft within its fleet. LifeFlight established base support facilities throughout the contract service area and developed customised touring rosters for its pilots and aircrew.
