implemented MEPCO En&rprise Network inclusive of Local Area Network and Wide Area Network.
Infrastructure deployments included industry standard Data Center, Enterprise Servers, Enterprise Storage
system, Tape library, virtualized environments, VMware hypervisors and 10 Gig based Network infrastructure
at Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO). This was an extremely important and expansive project; it
covered MEPCO HQ and most of its Field Offices throughout the Southem region ofthe Punjab province.
Mr. Firdous worked with extreme care and attention in the deployment of Passive as well as Active equipment
all over MEPCO. He worked on the deployment, installation and configurations of Juniper SRX-3400 Router
Cum Firewalls, Juniper SRX-210 Routers (Remote Sites), CISCO C-6807-XL and CISCO Nexus 5548UP
Core Switches, CISCO C-3560X and 2960X Access/Distribution Switches. He also contributed in the
configuration and deployment of Servers in Virtual Environment in HQ for the provisioning ofERP Security,
Access Control purposes and Network Monitoring. He was also involved in the deployment of Layer-3 MPLS
connectivity between MEPCO HQ and MEPCO Remote Offices. He played an important part in the
deployment of Client VPN Connectivity at the HQ for work from home environment. He also deployed an
Interim Solution for allowing remote and local users of Network devices to authenticate from a well-managed
server (Radius).
Mr. Firdous also worked and provided Support in the implementation of the AMI Cell in MEPCO Computer
center. He also added data in the AMI software that was designed for AMR meters in AMI Cell. He also
worked with the Meter Readers to ensure that the HHU software and application on the device works fine. He
also maintained the data base for the CFL users and provided an output reports.
Mr. Firdous collaborated with multiple vendors to ensure smooth execution ofthe project. He meticulously
planned the deployment of Network at remote sites with the collaboration of multiple Vendors. He also
worked on planning the IP Scheme for all the MEPCO Offices along with the VLAN design for the HQs. He
also worked very hard to implement network at remote sites in a very short span of time.
Mr. Firdous played an important part in the deployment of Monitoring tools like Cacti, Nagios and MRTG for
the monitoring of all Networks and Systems Devices deployed at the MEPCO HQ and field offices. He also
created detailed network diagrams for depiction of Network equipment and servers connected in the MEPCO
HQ. He also illustrated in the diagrams the network connectivity of remote of,fices to the MEPCO HQ.
Mr. Firdous Khan worked hard in making this project successful. He worked with unreserved dedication and
used all his energies to complete the tasks tlat were assigned to him. We found him to be an exceedingly
competitive and wonderful person. His work is ofvery high quality and is a testament to his professionalism.
We feel extremely fortunate to have had him work at MEPCO.
