PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
10/03/2000 to 06/08/2015:

Highway Related Design, Report Writing and Review Reports for Functional Units like
Geotechnical, Environmental, Hydraulics, Survey, Structural Engineering, Electrical,
Traffic, and Project Management and I worked in Design and Project Development,
1
2. Rabbi’s CV
Construction, Planning and Project Management and Maintenance divisions as a project
engineer in CalTrans for last 15 years, Performs highly advanced and complex
transportation engineering work with different functional areas such as Project and
Planning Management, Project Development and Design, Environment, Hydraulics,
Geotechnical, Electrical, Traffic, Survey, Structural Engineering, construction, Manages
personnel engaged and is responsible for operations. Interprets, organizes, plans,
schedules, executes and coordinates major technical engineering assignments; manages
construction and maintenance activities, performs engineering design work, calculates
costs and conducts various studies for an area office. Manages professional, technical,
clerical employees and supervisors. Reports to the Branch Chief.
During the initiation of project to the completion of project, I was always closely involved
with the Project Manager to recommend him/she technical aspects of the project within the
scope, which should be buildable and economically feasible with reasonable time frame.
Help the Project Manager to estimate work resources, Capital and Support cost to
program the projects, Schedule and risk management documents and prepared presentation
of public meetings for critically environmental sensitive projects.
I finished projects from small scale (project cost from $20,000) like maintenance project to
replace some damaged concrete blocks of sidewalk. The biggest project construction cost
estimate was $850 million, which was a State Improvement Transportation Plan (STIP)
projec. I was involved more than twenty-six different types of large projects which I have
been done in CalTrans.

REFEREED PUBLICATION
I had publication restrictions of my innovative research with Lawrence Berkeley National
Laboratory (LBNL), Berkeley, CA where I was Research Scientist from 1997-2000. It is my pleasure
after knowing that from April, 2015 and onward, I am opened to discussion and publish the out come
of my innovate research. If every things go well, I am thinking the outcomes of the research can result
in another 10-12 publications. I am working on the results of these researches to publish in Journals
and Present in Conferences in a reasonable time frame.

PS: I wish that I would include Dr. Yalcin B. Acar in the reference lists, who died in a car accident on May
9, 1996. I had been actively involved in Geoenvironmental research with last four years of his life. I had an
opportunity to meet with him as an advisor/supervisor, mentor and above all as a friend. He was one of the
leading researchers in Geoenvironment, especially in Electrokinetics soil remediation. He is a continuous
source of my professional inspiration. Some of my works are dedicated to his name
