To whom it may concern,
I was the senior partner at All American Orthopedics and Sports Medicine until October 31, 2014. I built the
company from the ground up and we gradually grew to five doctors.I recently left the company to join Methodist.
During my last four years, the office was managed by Ms. Farryl Bernell. Ms. Bernell was responsible for the
growth of the company and did an outstanding job of moving the company into the modern era of medicine. She saw
the implementation of two EMR systems and was able to master the concept of Meaningful Use. She brought our
billing back into the office and hired a superb staff to perform the billing. She overhauled our front desk and our
business office to provide efficient care in the era of precertification. She handled some very difficult lease
negotiations and was responsible for all the employee issues. She did all the credentialing for the doctors as we grew
from two to five doctors.
Ms. Bernell was willing to go the extra distance for anything the office needed. As I was leaving she had been
essentially the architect and interior design specialist for a new office for the group. She also helped develop a
profitable brace business in the office. In general there was nothing that she would not do to improve the compan y.
There were many aspects ofmedicine that were new to Ms. Bernell but she took on every challenge and found the
solutions. She had a great deal of energy and she would not quit on any project. Dealing with five doctors with five
different personalities was difficult but she found a way to work with all the doctors. She had the guts to remove bad
staff and hire betterstaff when necessary.
I can honestly say that without Ms. Bernell, our company would not have grown and she was a major asset. She
will be an asset to any medical practice that hires her as an office executive. Frankly, I think she would be an asset in
just about any business and might even get the Texans to the Super Bowl.
It is a pleasure to recommend her for a position with your company. If you would like more information, please

Sincerely,
Kenneth R. First, M.D.
