This species are excellent climbers and are very agile
while in trees; they mark their territory by means of
secretions from their anal glands or urine. They also
communicate by means of high-pitched vocalizations.
Ponyas' spend most of their time in the trees and even
sleep in trees. They curl up and cover their faces with
their tails or they may sleep with their legs stretched
out and can spend most of the day sleeping
approximately 15 hours a day.
These mammals are most active at night and at
sunrise, which is when they go in search of food using
their claws, wings, and antlers to hunt. Being
omnivores, they feed on bamboo, fruit, acorns, roots,
eggs, insects, and small animals like lizards, baby birds,
and rodents.
Ponyas' are now extinct due to the continuation of
decreasing population rates during the
Pleistocene Epoch and became the prey of most
vertebrates
