Dr. Evangelos Mitsakis presented on use cases of FIWARE in connected and cooperative mobility. He discussed previous projects using FIWARE like the HIT Open Data Portal. Current projects like ACTIVAGE are using FIWARE for pre-trip routing information, mobility monitoring, intersection alerts, and device management. Technologies used include CKAN, Orion, IDAS, KeyRock and Wilma. Future plans include the C-Mobile project focusing on Day 1 and Day 1.5 services, data exchange standards, and large scale deployments across 8 cities.

4. Ongoing mobility related R&I with FIWARE
H2020 ACTIVAGE project
• Use case 1 Pre-trip information: Users can access through the platform information
concerning prevailing road traffic conditions (congestion index) and travel times along
major routes in Thessaloniki. Also the users can receive pre-trip routing information
based on a) comfort (minimum travel time variability) and b) real-time traffic conditions.
• Use case 2 Mobility behaviour monitoring: Users can access through the dashboard of
the platform information concerning a) total trip time, b) total distance travelled, c)
average travel speed and d) trip segments
• Use case 3 Intersection alerts: User receives non-distracting alerts while he/she is
driving and when approaching an intersection for pedestrians, where presence of
pedestrians has been detected and safety concerns are considered as critical.
