Recommendation for Mr Ethan Mackenzie
I am writing an academic recommendation for Mr Ethan Mackenzie. I have known Mr Mackenzie
for over one year while acting as the convener for the unit PICT913: Asia Pacific Security in
which he was enrolled, at the Centre for Policing, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism (PICT),
Macquarie University. Throughout his program of study, Ethan has proven to be successful
academically and impressed me with his enthusiasm, intellectual ability, and commitement to his
degree. His scholarly assessments and activities have been very good, and he has achieved
Distinction grades in the 80 percentile range in my classes. This actually puts him in the top 5-10
percent of Masters students. In addition, Ethan Mackenzie has demostrated significant
interpersonal and communication abilities, illustrated through online forum work and seminar-
based activities.
Mr Ethan Mackenzie has proven himself to be a very good student, performing well in all
required coursework. He has demonstrated high-order analytical and research skills at a post-
graduate level. He has consistently shown engaged intellectual curiosity and the ability to think
logically and rationally about complex issues pertaining to the security domain. Throughout the
course he has demonstrated the capacity to work in a group and take lead if necessary, or to work
independently with little oversight to achieve significant academic outcomes. Furthermore, Ethan
has shown the ability to not merely reach deadlines but to achieve high academic outcomes in a
time sensitive environment.
In short, Ethan has shown himself to be capable, hard working, responsible and intelligent. If I
can offer any additional insights on please do not hesitate contacting me at
julian.droogan@mq.edu.au or at the details below.
Yours sincerely,
