NAME:__________________________________________________________________Erica Caracciolo DATE OF INTERNSHIP:____________________________________
DEPARTMENT: Freight Pneumatic Accounting SUPERVISOR:___________________________________________Pamela Heddinger
Key to ratings:
E - EXCELLENT - Performance is exceptional in all areas and far exceeds position requirements.
G - GOOD - Performance is of high quality and is achieved on a consistent basis.
S - SATISFACTORY - Competent and dependable level of performance. Meets performance standards of the job.
I - IMPROVEMENT NEEDED - Performance is deficient in certain areas, improvement is necessary.
U - UNSATISFACTORY - Results are generally unacceptable and require immediate improvement.
1. QUANTITY OF WORK (Volume of acceptable work handled and use of working time).
E___X____G_______S_______I________U_______
Comments: Was given several large and small projects to work on during the summer. Some had specific deliverable dates and others
were as time permits. Each task was handled well with effective use of time
2. QUALITY OF WORK - ACCURACY (Correctness of work, neatness, exactness).
E__X_____G_______S_______I________U_______
Comments: Erica has a strong work ethic and takes pride in what she prepares. He final work documents were completed with
strong attention to detail. Early in the summer we talked about "who your audience is" and ensuring that every document you prepare is
formatted appropriately and level of precision is relevant for that audience. Important in accounting and I would also believe in her chosen field.
3. ADHERENCE TO INSTRUCTIONS (Observance of procedures, following of instructions).
E__X_____G_______S_______I________U_______
Comments: Erica started her internship the week I was on vacation. The written work instructions that were prepared for her were followed
and she was able to complete the task assigned in one week. This was above my expectations and was a strong indication of how well
her summer was going to go.
4. ATTENDANCE (Regularity of attendance and punctuality on job).
E__X_____G_______S_______I________U_______
Comments: Extremely punctual and willing to stay over when asked to get the job finished.
5. ACCEPTANCE OF RESPONSIBILITY (Willingness to assume responsibility for job & handle it without constant supervision.)
E___X____G_______S_______I________U_______
Comments: Erica assumed ownership of this project and worked with the team as required to complete. Daily supervision was minimal
since she was able to pick up Oracle so quickly. Weekly status review sessions enabled us to determine areas to focus and new avenues
to pursue in obtaining the final objectives.
6. INITIATIVE (Original contribution to job and to the welfare of department and company).
E___X____G_______S_______I________U_______
Comments: The implementation of locators in ABDX required many design steps that had to be useful, understandable and convenient
for everyone. Erica took the initiate during many meetings to talk to everyone to make suggestions and then get consensus on concepts. This
team work methodology was critical to ensure shop and management believed in project and the benefits it will create.
7. JUDGMENT (Use of common sense, analytical ability on job, sense of values).
E___X____G_______S_______I________U_______
Comments: Strong sense of self that enables her to make sound decisions.
8. COOPERATIVE ATTITUDE (Attitude toward company, supervisors, and cooperation with fellow workers).
E__X_____G_______S_______I________U_______
Comments: Erica was wonderful to work with and that comment was made to me by everyone who worked with her during her internship.
WABTEC CORPORATION PERFORMANCE REVIEW - SUMMER INTERNS
She has a wonderful personality and great ability to relate to everyone she meets.
9. GENERAL APTITUDE (Attitude to learn and to adapt self to new situations).
E___X____G_______S_______I________U_______
Comments: First week on the job she picked up Oracle inventory module and how to navigate and modify many different fields and how they
would impact the rest of the setup. When presented with the bar code machines, she found the existing documentation, went on line to gain
stronger understanding and updated all documents to ensure they were in good shape.
10. PERSONAL QUALITIES (Appearance, manners, sociability, integrity).
E__X_____G_______S_______I________U_______
Comments: Energetic personality brought to work every day was a breath of fresh air
11. RELATIONSHIP WITH PEERS AND/OR SUBORDINATES (Willingness and ability to get along, work and
communicate with co-workers and supervisors).
E___X____G_______S_______I________U_______
Comments: Erica worked with many levels in this organization during her internship. Her outgoing personality and willingness to jump in
and perform any task was well received and appreciated. I am sure when she accepted this internship she never imagined wearing safety
shoes and getting dirty but she embraced all aspects and always had a smile.
12. CREATIVITY (The extent to which the person proposes ideas, finds new and better ways of doing things).
E__X_____G_______S_______I________U_______
Comments: Another miscellaneous project we had her work on this summer was the design of a single purchasing form to replace
the three existing forms. She was given some specific guidelines but no clear requirement. This project was well received and has been
implemented in the department and will improve efficiency by eliminating duplication of effort preparing several forms.
13. OVERALL Performance (Rate the person's overall performance in comparison to position specifications).
E__X_____G_______S_______I________U_______
Comments: Overall performance was excellent - amount of work performed and completed was well beyond expectations
Describe briefly the specific project(s) the intern was assigned.
FCP Enabled locators in one of our sub-inventory locations. Project was to locate, identify, label, organize and move each part to a newly
established locator to improve inventory accuracy and ability to locate parts quickly and easily. There are approx. 1,000 part numbers that can
be located in multiple locations. Other projects were distribution of OTD reports to managers and Past Due AR review for collections
Where they completed? ___X________Yes ________No If no, why?_____________________________________________
____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Would you recommend this individual for another internship at Wabtec? __X___Yes ______No
If No, why?__________________________________________________________________________________________________
Comments on individual's major strengths: Erica's ability to grasp concepts quickly and ask well thought out questions to ensure complete
comprehension of requested tasks made this project viable. It was unclear whether we were going to attempt this undertaking and
after her first week we knew we would be able to implement and complete with her leadership. She requires minimal supervision and
worked well with every person she incorporated into the project.

Additional Comments:
While this summer internship was not in her field of choice, Erica embraced the project 100% and did everything to ensure she
participated and learned everything she could relating to working at a corporation. She will be an asset to any organization that she works for
in the future. It has been a great experience working with her this summer.
