Data is everywhere, but viewing data in spreadsheets makes it nearly
impossible to uncover critical business insights

37%of an analyst’s time is spent just
searching for data.
60%of analyst models have five or more
data sources.
$60Bis spent on manual models inside

Common Challenges
•Due to many analytic inefficiencies,
employees are stuck in spreadsheet
hell trying to analyze their data —
instead of using their time wisely to
affect changes based on what the
data reveals.
•Many teams spend time building
custom solutions, deploying analytic
products, or consuming analytic
commodities or utilities — even when
they already exist.
•Many finance organizations lack a
single “source of truth,” or one
location where all data is stored that
serves as the reference point for
review and accuracy. This lack of a
single source creates work and
rework as teams are operating in
informational silos. 7

Predictive analytics is a category of data analytics aimed at making predictions about
future outcomes based on historical data and analytics techniques such as statistical
modeling and machine learning.
The science of predictive analytics can generate future insights with a significant
degree of precision. With the help of sophisticated predictive analytics tools and
models, any organization can now use past and current data to reliably forecast trends
and behaviors milliseconds, days, or years into the future.
With predictive analytics, organizations can find and exploit patterns contained within
data in order to detect risks and opportunities. Models can be designed, for instance, to
discover relationships between various behavior factors. Such models enable the
assessment of either the promise or risk presented by a particular set of conditions,
guiding informed decision-making across various categories of supply chain and
procurement events.

Predictive Analytics Defined
13. | Copyright ©. SafePaaS, Inc.| Copyright ©. SafePaaS, Inc.
Predictive analytics has captured the support of wide range of organizations, with a
global market projected to reach approximately $10.95 billion by 2022, growing at a
compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 21 percent between 2016 and
2022, according to a 2017 report issued by Zion Market Research.
The predictive analytics market is segmented on the basis of deployment into cloud-
based & on-premises installation. The cloud-based segment accounted for the
largest market share in 2016. This segment is expected to exhibit significant growth
in the years to come due to increasing IT priorities among different enterprises over
the past couples of years. Cloud-based predictive analytic solutions have a much
faster time to value than its alternatives which represent a critical advantage for the
approach. Based on software solutions, predictive analytics market has been
classified into financial intelligence, customer intelligence, financial intelligence,
decision support systems, data mining and management, fraud and security
intelligence and others.

Market Adoption

• Predictive analytics makes looking into the future more accurate and reliable than
previous tools.
• Forecast inventory requirements, manage shipping schedules and configure store
layouts to maximize sales. Set prices reflecting past trends.
• Generate new customer responses or purchases, as well as promote cross-sell
opportunities. Predictive models can help businesses attract, retain and nurture their
most valued customers.
• Detect and halt various types of criminal behavior before any serious damage is
inflected.
• Monitor user behaviors and actions, an organization can detect activities that are out
of the ordinary, ranging from credit card fraud to corporate spying to cyberattacks.
