Wesleyan’s Delta Upsilon Chapter’s
New President, Lindsay Gregory
Greetings!
As the new President of the Delta Upsilon
chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha, I cannot express my
gratitude enough in the opportunity to lead such
an incredible group of inspiring and passionate
young women. We just recently received twelve
wonderful additions to our sisterhood, making up
our spring new member class. In an effort to
revamp the chapter, our Executive Committee
and Programs Council members are working
together to come up with new and innovative
ways to accomplish our goals, as well as work
toward Crown Chapter. We have numerous
events scheduled for this semester, which include
some old traditions, as well as some new. We
cannot wait to share our chapter’s progress with
you at Alum Tea this spring! Thank you for your
continued interest and support!

SISTER OF THE MONTH
January’s Sister of the Month is Lydia Krimmel.
She was awarded this because of her selfless,
positive, and gracious personality that has
impacted this sisterhood for the past four years.
Lydia has not only been influenced by Zeta, but
has also encouraged, loved, supported, and
mentored many sisters! Lydia has made an impact
on our chapter throughout her college experience
and we will forever be grateful for her kind,
loving spirit!
“Zeta has taught me the power of
knowledge and how to use it for the better
by treating everyone equally. Zeta Tau
Alpha has shaped me into the woman I am
today and I’m just thankful it’s not four
years, but for life.”
Our sister, Alexis Jani, has be awarded the Bruhns
Scholarship which will help pay for a summer
abroad in South Africa. With an Education
Studies major and Psychology minor, Alexis will
be taking two classes that will total 6 hours as
well as be able to go into South American schools
and see how they are taught and what they are
learning. The Bruhns Scholarship is a highly
competitive and esteemed award. Along with her
new scholarship, Alexis is currently Vice
President 1: Coordinator of Committees, which
has led to new leadership skills that will help her
this summer abroad. Our chapter is so proud of
Alexis for everything she has accomplished thus
far! We can’t wait to hear her exciting stories of a
new country and learning experience!
“I went through sorority recruitment and I
found that the girls in Zeta really loved me
and wanted me to be happy. My sisters went
out of their way to make sure I was happy and
that I was involved.”

Balancing school and Zeta is a very difficult task
at times, but for Sophomore Biology major,
Dawn Craft, holding her Executive Committee
position and focusing on school has only made
her a more well-rounded leader. Her role in
recruitment has taught her skills that she can use
in the future, such as efficiently and effectively
planning events on a budget and a limited time
frame, as well as, being able to make connections
and network with people. Our chapter could not
be more proud of how much hard work and
dedication Dawn contributed not only to
recruitment, but to our sisterhood as a whole!
“The moment I walked into the suite I felt
like I was at home. I knew that if I became a
Zeta, my sisters would love me for exactly
who I was and support me through my
college years and life.”

Our chapter is pleased to announce that we have 12 new members from our Spring
Recruitment. Each of these girls are wonderful and already hold the values of Zeta Tau Alpha
close to their hearts. We can’t wait to see where their journey in Zeta will take them!

Hello everyone!
It has been my pleasure to teach and assist our
newly initiated sisters this semester. As Vice
President II, New Member Coordinator, it is
my job to teach them all the great things about
Zeta and what it has to offer, but in reality, they
are the ones that have taught me so much. I am
still amazed everyday by their generosity,
humbleness, and all the love they share for each
other and me. When I heard that we were
getting twelve new sisters, I was overjoyed and
excited to meet our new sisters, and start
telling them everything about Zeta and why I
love it! I was probably overbearing and scary to
them right away just because I was too excited.
Looking back now I wouldn’t change anything.
The new sisters we have are an amazing class,
and I believe they will continue to make our
chapter wonderful! I could have not asked for a
better group of girls to begin my position with.
I will always be proud of everything they are
doing. I can’t wait to see where their Zeta
journey goes, and how they will all change the
world.

SISTER OF THE MONTH
February’s Sister of the Month is Tiffany
Flanigan. She was awarded this because of her
service to not only our sisterhood, but to our
campus! Tiffany is involved in WE LEAD, Alpha
Lambda Delta, NSLS, LEAP, SNOW, and
Sophomore Council! On top of all that, she also
has a position on our Programs Council as
Service Chairman. Tiffany is a hardworking
woman who puts her whole heart into everything
she does! Our chapter would have a lot less
laughter (and pancakes!) without Tiffany!
“I know that on my good and bad days, I have
a sister waiting to give me a hug and smile.
Sisterhood means continuous laughter, love,
and memories.”
SISTER SPOTLIGHT
Our chapter is proud to announce that our
sister, Coral Dean, has been honored with a
four week summer internship at the Langone
Medical Center for the New York University
Medical School. A Psychology major and
Human Biology and Spanish minor, Coral will
be working under an occupational therapist and
go to lectures on rehabilitation and hospital
care. Did we mention that this rehab facility is
one of the top in the United States? Coral has
found that our sisters’ constant support and
love has helped her become inspired and keep
her on track with her goals! Our sisterhood
cannot wait to see all of Coral’s great
accomplishments this summer with her
internship!
“Each day I am surrounded by women who
encourage each other and empower each
other to be the best they can be, which helps
to remind me to always be my best.”

KissAway Cancer
Our Valentine’s Day-themed fundraiser
helped raise breast cancer awareness
across campus, while satisfying
everyone’s sweet tooth with Hershey
Kisses and unrequited love! Our Think
Pink Chairman, Cassie Motok,
planned this event in which we raised
$127!
A group of our sisters spent a
Sunday this month at Ruby
Memorial Hospital. They made
arts and crafts with the children’s
floor and their families. We are
proud to say that our
philanthropy goes beyond Breast
Cancer Awareness and
Education, meaning we are “to
think in terms of all mankind
and our service in world.”

Hello!
This has been my first semester as Alumni
Relations Chairman and I cannot begin to
describe how rewarding it has been. I love
being able to send out our newsletters so
that all of you can see the incredible new
things our chapter and sisters are doing, as
well as, all of the traditions you have left
behind. I have also had the pleasure of
learning about all the amazing things our
alumni have been up to! This position has
allowed me to learn more about the Delta
Upsilon chapter and hear from alumni
across the country! I hope to see you all

SISTER SPOTLIGHT
Our recent Spring Formal was a beautiful
Royal Garden Party filled with fragrant
flowers and pastel colors in a beautiful
establishment that was all put together by
our lovely Internal Social Chairman, Katie
Fox. Although this PC position is one of the
most stressful, Katie wanted it because she
felt like she could put in the dedication and
planning to make formal a special occasion
for everyone. Her confidence and
professionalism truly did make formal a fun,
unique, and memorable occasion! Katie had
to jump through many hoops, whether it was
for Zeta Tau Alpha’s policy, for the venue,
food, and insurance plans, the venue and
vendors, and the authorities within the
chapter. Formal took months for Katie to
plan, but the execution was perfectly done
and resulted in a special formal no sister will
soon forget!
“Zeta is a bond of love and service. We all
promise to care and depend on each other,
no matter our backgrounds or personalities.
Sisterhood is giving unconditional love and
reciprocating that love with respect, service,
and dedication.”
A special thanks to alum Suzanne Borden Fox
’88 for all of her help with formal! She
supplied her daughter, Katie, with ideas for
decorations and formal favors. Her creative
and physical help was accompanied by
keeping high spirits and attitudes in check
during the stressful weeks before formal. We
truly appreciate everything you did for our
sisterhood! Zeta is not just four years, it’s
forever!
Special Thanks

SPRING SING
Introducing our Spring Sing
Chairman, Sydney Tull! Although
coordinating Spring Sing is stressful
and intimidating, Sydney is doing
an amazing job at creating dance
routines, scripts, and organizing
practices. Dancing and performing
have always been some of Sydney’s
passions and with Spring Sing she
can incorporate them into Zeta!
Goals for this year are to take back
our title for Spring Sing, but overall
just to put on a fabulous show!
“I've met the most amazing and
supportive people through Zeta,
and I love watching our chapter
grow.”
ZETA DAY
Many sisters from the Delta Upsilon chapter traveled to Pittsburgh on April 2 for Zeta Day! It was a
great day filled with positive speakers, Zeta love, and sisterhood!

SISTER SPOTLIGHT
Our Sisterhood Chairman, Caysie Irving,
has put so much into her position this
semester by organizing events, such as, a
game night that allowed the newest
members to learn more about the chapter, a
movie night to help prepare the chapter for
our Spring Sing skit, senior week, and senior
picnic that helped ensure that the seniors
understood how much we all looked up and
cherished them! Caysie has put an endless
amount of her time into these events and we
truly appreciate her dedication to our
sisterhood!
“To me Zeta means being loved and
supported by the most caring sisters. It’s
having someone to laugh with you on the
good days and someone to cry with you
on the bad.”

Sisterhood means continuous laughter, love, and memories.” SISTER SPOTLIGHT Our chapter is proud to announce that our sister, Coral Dean, has been honored with a four week summer internship at the Langone Medical Center for the New York University Medical School. A Psychology major and Human Biology and Spanish minor, Coral will be working under an occupational therapist and go to lectures on rehabilitation and hospital care. Did we mention that this rehab facility is one of the top in the United States? Coral has found that our sisters’ constant support and love has helped her become inspired and keep her on track with her goals! Our sisterhood cannot wait to see all of Coral’s great accomplishments this summer with her internship! “Each day I am surrounded by women who encourage each other and empower each other to be the best they can be, which helps to remind me to always be my best.”

  • 12. Delta Upsilon March Newsletter 2 SISTER SPOTLIGHT Our recent Spring Formal was a beautiful Royal Garden Party filled with fragrant flowers and pastel colors in a beautiful establishment that was all put together by our lovely Internal Social Chairman, Katie Fox. Although this PC position is one of the most stressful, Katie wanted it because she felt like she could put in the dedication and planning to make formal a special occasion for everyone. Her confidence and professionalism truly did make formal a fun, unique, and memorable occasion! Katie had to jump through many hoops, whether it was for Zeta Tau Alpha’s policy, for the venue, food, and insurance plans, the venue and vendors, and the authorities within the chapter. Formal took months for Katie to plan, but the execution was perfectly done and resulted in a special formal no sister will soon forget! “Zeta is a bond of love and service. We all promise to care and depend on each other, no matter our backgrounds or personalities. Sisterhood is giving unconditional love and reciprocating that love with respect, service, and dedication.” A special thanks to alum Suzanne Borden Fox ’88 for all of her help with formal! She supplied her daughter, Katie, with ideas for decorations and formal favors. Her creative and physical help was accompanied by keeping high spirits and attitudes in check during the stressful weeks before formal. We truly appreciate everything you did for our sisterhood! Zeta is not just four years, it’s forever! Special Thanks
  • 13. Delta Upsilon March Newsletter 3 SPRING SING Introducing our Spring Sing Chairman, Sydney Tull! Although coordinating Spring Sing is stressful and intimidating, Sydney is doing an amazing job at creating dance routines, scripts, and organizing practices. Dancing and performing have always been some of Sydney’s passions and with Spring Sing she can incorporate them into Zeta! Goals for this year are to take back our title for Spring Sing, but overall just to put on a fabulous show! “I've met the most amazing and supportive people through Zeta, and I love watching our chapter grow.” ZETA DAY Many sisters from the Delta Upsilon chapter traveled to Pittsburgh on April 2 for Zeta Day! It was a great day filled with positive speakers, Zeta love, and sisterhood!
