Trainspotting was released in 1996 and directed by Danny Boyle. It was filmed on a very small budget of £2.5 million in an abandoned cigarette factory in Glasgow, requiring scenes to be filmed in single takes and special effects to be done practically without computers. Despite having a different storyline, the film's use of practical special effects on a low budget and unknown actors can provide inspiration for creating a trailer with limited resources that supports the social realist genre.
