2. What is Sustainability?
Sustainability is “the avoidance of the depletion of natural
resources in order to maintain an ecological balance.”
Concept was first brought up in the year 1987

3. Why
Sustainability?
THE EARTH IS
WARMING
WHICH IS CREATING
MORE SEVERE
WEATHER EVENTS
AND HIGHER OCEAN
LEVELS.
WE ALSO EXPERIENCE
EXCESS AIR
POLLUTION
AS WELL AS LITTER.

4. What we as Individuals
can do to Help:
• Utilize reusable bags and water
bottles
• Recycle correctly
• Drive Less or Carpool
• Reduce water usage
• Limit plastic usage

7. What do these Companies do?
• Patagonia- eco-friendly, pledge 1% of sales to conserve the natural environment, grow
their raw materials organically.
• Seventh Generation- plant based products, and their packaging is made from all recycled
materials.
• A Good Company- full transparency, and products are all made from re-used goods.
• New Belgium Brewing- eco-friendly, uses sustainable vendors, and tax themselves for
energy usage.
• Pela- makes compostable phone cases, Climate Neutral Certified, and donates 1% of
funds to tackle pollution.

8. The Future
Overall, with eco-friendly businesses being such a hot topic
of conversation businesses will have no choice, but to
change. They will need to become fully transparent with
their business practices, as well as use eco-friendly
packaging and organic materials. Hopefully, businesses will
follow the footsteps of those previously mentioned and
create change!
